I was up there over the weekend - no snow at the beginning of Leavitt Rd , not sure how far you could drive before running into snow drifts, but I'd be surprised if one could drive to the lake. Took this shot Saturday.Click image for larger version.

I hiked up the road yesterday. Firstly the gate is closed so already a no go... About half a mile in there is a tree down but should be quick to clean up with a chainsaw. Snow patches start about a mile in. Completely skin-able 1.75 in. Still snow bridges across the two creeks but won't last long. At certain points before the snow the road is basically a waterfall/creek. The lake is still almost completely frozen over with a couple patches melted. Spent the night and thought I heard some fish jump but could have been things melting off. There is about 3-4 feet at lake level still according to some random probe measurements when I was bored.

A little deferred stoke here, hopefully not stale. This is from last weekend 6/22: still tons of snow, cold clear overnight refreezes, but the suncups are pretty rough everywhere but the steeps. The skiing itself is nice, the approach in and out a little burnt and wobbly. These were likely my last turns of the season but holy hell what a season it was

Anybody been up there lately? I'm planning on taking the kids backpacking in the area in a couple of weeks. Would prefer to start from the Lake if the road is passable.

I drove by on Saturday morning on my way to Mammoth. Gate is still closed for leavitt lake road. I didn't investigate much farther besides a quick peek from the highway so I'm not sure if there is still snow up the road that would affect walking it.
