Probably won't be much space to park and crash in the car at the pass. There's some bandit spots west and east from there. Not sure if those are free of snow yet through. I'd just go east until you find a spot.

Top of the pass south of the road. There's an obvious peak to ski (No Name).

    Sonora Pass

I'll be up there tomorrow. Couldn't make it today. Parking could be tough but you'll find something. When you headed up?

Have to run it by the wife first....but I'll most likely leave tonight around 8 and drive up and crash wherever. Where were you planning on skiing tomorrow and at what time?

Not 100% sure where but there are many options. I'll try to hit the pass by 7-8. Can meet up and carpool if you go in the morning.

Looks like they carved out a parking area at the top. Some parking near deadmans too.

Rolled down to Sonora with somethingclever yesterday for a couple stellar days of skiing. Some transitional snow here and there but overall fat coverage and great skiing. Crossing the river is a non issue at the hairpin skied right to the road both times.

We arrived to this Wednesday morning, looking good!

We did a warmup run in the bowl then booted up the Y and put first tracks in there

You can see our 3 tracks in the bowl and coming out of the coolie. 3 friends of mine tagged the coolie between the Y and the bowl, most of it is out of view but you can see there tracks coming out of it also

Nice. TahoeBC, I think that coolie between the Y and Bowl is called Paris Hilton. At least I've called it that.

We will be driving through mid day today. It looks fat up there.

On the way to scope out Levitt...it was getting gang banged on Wednesday.

So we billy goated around and skied this instead...

Day 2 was better and much less crowded. We spotted TahoeBC and his bud in their first coolie. The old lady said "naw", so we opted for something a bit more mellow.

    Still fun!

Still a bunch of snow up there. The new snow did smooth out certain ENE aspects up high, but definitely still summer conditions. Worth it.

You must have been the couple we chatted with briefly as we rolled back to the car at the hairpin yesterday? From the top of our second line yesterday I saw your tracks from the day before, gave me an ideal of how to link up the two zones for a biggish day

Not in the spring and summer I don't.

Meggers I think I saw you on my way down the hill at the hairpin with your pops.

A great day today. I've got a few more lined up. Good to tie in with CS and (lurker) Joe.

There will be a bunch of Tuolumne County donkeys out and about on skis, boards and sleds tomorrow.

I heard there was a ban on snow machines due to an endangered bird in the area.

Drove over the Pass today. So much snow up high. We stopped at the Eureka campground just before the final climb and my son loved the bouldering there.

Hope to get out there in a few weeks unless things stay super hot. Looks like we will have a weekend of lift serve before the drive south.

    Busy out there today.

Owen and I got a tour in out to No Name while Krystal and her friends went to Leavitt Peak.

Busy today too. Group of 12.

I fucked up and left my boots at home. Lost an hour but still had fun.

Some new avalanche debris way down at the bottom of what I skied. Must have been big.

The suncups are looking significant. Is the Y at least still smooth?
