What's up with Chainlove?
Is it going through an identity crisis lately? It seems like for the last week, it's been nothing but roadie and racer stuff. How about some items that people actually buy?

They recently retired Bonktown, so it's now both Mtn and Road.

they closed down bonktown a little while back, so now all the shit that was on that site clogs up chainlove instead.

Yep. I don't even look at that site anymore.
I'm sure they are following a plan dictated by marketing, and I'm sure it's been better for them.
Nothing for me there anymore, though.
Same thing happened to Steep & Cheap.

Both those sites suck now. I miss the old days but my wallet doesn't.
Dollar sign that bitch.

I had almost lost faith in Chainlove until I picked up a Shimano XT wheel set from them super cheap last week. I also saw complete Santa Cruz Highball carbons on there yesterday for short money.

I finally got glasses with interchangeable lenses, that's all I've seen lately that I've had any interest in. I guess that's a good thing though.

Yep. Definitely fallen off. Still the occasional steal but hardly like it was.

They just had a Camelback pack on there that's meant for hiking. The description even listed it as having loops for an ice axe. You know, just the other day I was out on a ride and thought to myself, "Gee, an ice axe would come in handy right now."
"I knew in an instant that the three dollars I had spent on wine would not go to waste."

I dunno, fighting off the hordes of smug 29er hard tail racer weenies would be a bit easier with an axe readily available...

Good. 20% would not have tempted me, especially in the carbon. I think aluminum version might be just about perfect for what I ride, and on a purely subjective note, there is some ineffable aesthetic to that bike that grabs me. Whatever. Agree with original poster, chainlove has not been delivering the love lately. Probably a good thign in that it means more of my money goes to my local shops.

$25 for some V1s was pretty sweet. Otherwise, junk factory. I probably wouldn't notice a good deal anyway. I've blocked the notifications out.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

The L&M Stella 300 lumen light that's on there right now is actually a screaming deal for a pretty damn good light.

^ And for 46 bucks? Why would I pay 46 dollars for a fancy T-shirt on a deal-at-a-time site?

The Campagnolo hat on right now is a sign that the end is nigh.
I agree, I look at chainlove and SAC often and have not felt compelled to buy anything in at least a year. FAIL
