I think you take great care of your caddie!
Yeah, schlepping bags there was wonderful. Unreal money and playing privileges....

Never played with a caddy but its on my bucket list. Dad picked up the game working as a caddy and it saved his life in WWII. I'm aiming for a round at Chambers Bay.

As a former looper i gotta be honest, buy a birdie book and spend the money you save on another round of golf. Unless it’s a luxury you can afford or the course requires it.

I hear what you're saying. Where I am with the grand old game after 60 years of play is different than most. I don't care too much about the score unless it's a competition but it would like to play a round talking out each of my shots with a caddy. I've tried talking out loud to myself with my regular partners but they say it's a 7 out of 10 on a scale of annoyance. Maybe I should just toss $30 to a kid from the HS golf team to carry my bag for a round at my regular track. That would be a hoot.

Competition round next week. The Valley Cup. 8 man teams from the 3 courses in the valley. Been chipping 10 minutes 5 times a day in the back yard. Signing off to go to the range.

    So are most lodging options.
I’m on the waiting list for both but may end up finding a place to stay outside the resort and book my own tee times.
Can’t believe this is happening 15 months prior.
Outside the resort quality lodging options are limited in Bandon. They don’t really have packages either so maybe book lodging before you plan a specific date. The resort rooms are really nice.

I've played a little and been to the range. I added a Vokey 46 degree wedge so only carrying 6-9 matched irons now. I compared the 2014 Big Bertha Irons to my Titleist 712 AP1's. At my swing speed there's not a lot of difference. The AP1's have less offset and heavier so they are a bit more workable but full shot is pretty much the same. What I gain in the AP1's playability I lose from the BB's off center distance so it's a wash.

My best shot right now is driver. Low trajectory with a slight draw. Goes like heck. I tee it pretty low and think flat swing instead of launching it up.

    Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-

Joined at much more difficult course this year than I've been a member at before and it's been humbling. The greens are difficult and if I'm not on my game it's a guaranteed penalty...I'm used to sleepwalking thru an even par round most of the time and now it's a mother fucker to make it happen.

I've put zero chipping practice in so far and it's really costing me....making a pact with myself to not hit the course my next time out and spending hrs on the chipping green to get where I need to be.

    What a game

That chipping thing is real- feel, muscle memory, instinct- goes a long way in this game.

Booner, what’s the slope difference in the courses?

Pulled a 41 out of my butt tonight with 6 one putts. Up and down from 30 yds twice for par 3's. I NEED more GIR's.

What's the percentage of 0 for 9? I don't need to get better, I just want to get as good as I once was. I think I'm standing too far from the ball before I hit it causing me to be standing too close to the ball after I hit it. I need to be thinking about my setup before I hit it and then not think when I swing. What do you think?

I am working on my takeaway. Trying to decide which way to take it away. Anyway 1000 chips in the back yard and 500 putts in the living room over the past few weeks has my short game back confidence back. On putts, chips and pitches, I look at my target and take 3 "feel" swings then look at the ball an pull the trigger without thinking.
