    League hcp...not my "real" hcp

I'm new to the league so I start scratch then league rounds get used for hcp.

My avg for 9 is 38 and I shot a 47 and probably will be in 43-47 range for a few more weeks. That'll give me 6-7 hcp for 9 holes the way their formula works.

So when I get back to shooting 34-40 in a month I'll be killing people for a few weeks till the hcp catches up

Took the first lesson of the season last Saturday.
Got lots of positive feedback and great pointers.
He directed my left knee to prevent upper body lifting and closed my left shoulder to fix my push/slice.
Consolidated my 50 question marks in my head down to 2-3 things to focus.
I like how our lesson is turning into fine tuning rather than major construction.
Will work on things he gave me and go back for another lesson next month or two.
Feel like heading to the right direction.

Anyone in the North Bay, CA area, Windsor golf club is playing great right now. Took a 2 year hiatus playing golf but just played my 4th round in the last month. Had been shooting 108, 102, 106 and finally broke 100 Sunday with a 99 haha. Back when I was playing a little more regularly I was in the mid to high 90's with the rare high 80s...so I'm happy. Golf is addicting as hell. Maybe I'll buy new shoes... mine are going into year 12...Any suggestions for a comfy wide-ish shoe?

Maybe Ecco. Trail shoes work well when it’s dry. I always wear spikeless unless it’s really wet. I don’t swing that hard.

I like that course and used to play it regularly, but haven't played it in years now... my last round there took almost 5 1/2 hours.

Like Windsor but haven’t played there in a few years. Used to be a “Nike Tour” stop back in the day.

Footjoys used to run wide (at least to me)

7th green at the old Tin Cup GC & Country Store is filling in. Rumors of "Glamping" and "Team Building".

Life is a house of many rooms. That one was fun. Now I'm the unofficial marketing consultant to the new owner of the Country Store. Still fun.

Isn’t that mostly the definition of a great shot? Phil from the pine straw. Tiger 6 iron from trap 220 yds over water.

Hitting a "Great Shot" is a relative term to me. I'm not Phil and never had or will have that shot. The guy in the video lost 3 strokes and shot another 92. He thinks another $100 lesson and he will finally break 90.

OTOH, I practiced Phil's flop shot 1000's of times in the back yard. SW laid open to the max. I once over flew a green by 10 yds and cleared a 20' hedge between me and the green to get back on. I got some applause from the 4some waiting for the tee box I hit off of.

It’s more about taking your medicine. If you short side yourself, for example, don’t get cute. Make sure your chip ends up on the green, take your two putts and get out of there.

^^^ Agreed. Managing mistakes is a massive part of the game and the best golfers do it incredibly well.

9 hole 4 ball last night. Between my partner and I, we had every number between 1 and 8 on our card. I hit it to 4' on a par 3. Partner put his in the hole from the tee for an Ace.
