Craigslist. I wouldn’t keep score for a while other than an estimate. It’s a distraction from getting better

Welcome back to the game, lowagriz.
Hope you get to enjoy your new clubs before the season ends.

They have some decent items on sale.

    Looks swank.

Sunset lit up the mountain. I played the18th hole driver from 365, driver from 265, wedge from 80 and one putted for a strange par.

    Both A.W. Tillinghast course.
I absolutely heart the Black (though I get my butt kicked every time I play there) and Fenway was beyond my expectations.

Some magical things happened at Bethpage Black on Friday.
It was my idea to take Friday off and play Bethpage.
Took 3 days of nonstop clicking to grab 9:30 twosome.
Then I suggested hiring a caddie to enjoy the day.
At the first tee box, the caddie showed up and introduced himself.
Then my boyfriend freaked out and called him “Chuck D!!!”.
Turned out they were college bodies who haven’t seen each other in 23 years!
Along with two nice guys from New Jersey, you can only imagine how the rest day went.

    Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-

Shot 93 with a birdie, few pars, one triple and couple doubles.
Boyfriend had a bad game and shot 92.
I think I can close the gap and take him over next year!

Bogey every hole on a standard 18 is 90. You can do that...easy! With a few pars you are mid 80's.

Tight lies, bunkers everywhere, fescue, fescue around the bunkers, lightning greens, good times.

I just booked a tee time for Bandon on Friday. We are passing through on a road trip and figured it was worth the coin to stop and play. Anyone have any advice whether it’s worth the $100/bag for a caddie?

Depends on your handicap, expectations, and the weather. My GHIN was a -3 when I played 8 rounds in four days. I could count on one hand the number of strokes not using a caddy cost me and I used a push cart. I only made one major mistake (#2 on Trails). I did have a yardage book. The guys I played with certainly needed them to find their ball in the rough and blame them for their bad scores.

I just prefer managing my own game.

I did let the other guys caddies use my rangefinder.

    Which course are you playing?

I'll be playing Friday too! Mid morning on Old Mac and I think we'll probably get out on the Preserve afterwards as well.

Re: Caddy, you should be fine without one on any of the courses - 2nd on yardage book.

Pretty sure I hit to the fairway on the hole to the left by mistake, had no idea where the green was...that was about all I can remember from that day, well with the exception of Mik**** that is.

    You’re ....you’re not good. Terrible. .

They keep the green at the end of the fairway.

Anyone use the 18Birdies app? I was looking for a scorecard app for the phone and found online reviews. Looks very good. Free for scorecard and basic GPS. Caddy help on paid looks intriguing.

I use it a bit. Great app that seems to get better with each update. Really like the real time interactive scorecard feature that allows you to see exactly where you stand in your foursome (or even better when playing with a larger group with lots of foursomes)
