I can't remember, do you have different colored flags for pin placements? I like the 150 posts because it gives you an idea of how far to hit to have 150, 100, etc in to the center of the green (especially if you don't have GPS/are walking/etc). In other words, they are more useful for the shot before you go for the green.
I'll have to pay attention to the flags today, I don't think they differ at all. The cart GPS just shows front/middle/back distances, so these are helping me.
Root, I've been trying to play smarter and using the post to guide shot placement inside of 150 has been helpful.
Usually have red, white, blue flags for front, middle, and back pin placements.
White post for 150 and red for 100 are going out of vogue, but are helpful for knowing your distance to center of green or your layup distance if you’re walking and not using a GPS or a range finder.
I walk/carry and sometimes forget my GPS watch, so the course markings (sprinkler heads, discs, posts, etc) are helpful.
My old place had red, white, and blue flags for front, middle, and back. It's pretty helpful for the MANY elevated greens where depth perception goes awry.
When I learned the game every course had posts or more likely bushes at 150 and 100 yards on the sides of the fairway.
I can guess +/- 3 yds if I have a 150 marker. I use a free app when I'm hitting from somewhere one fairway over. Under 100 yds I DO NOT want to know the exact number from your rangefinder. I trained with one of these when you couldn't post a score if you used it.

A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
Waiting on a Bandon update.
I was playing a new course couple months back, 2nd round of the year for me. First hole my drive ended up by the the blue stakes on the edge of the fairway. 200 yards out, right?
Fucking wrong... I launched over the green into a fairway behind it. MFers color coded the stakes to match pin placement on the day, not distance out. i was actually 150 out. goddamnit. fucking bullshit.
Last night in Bandon.
When I grow up, I wanna be a looper here.
^aiming for total consciousness on your deathbed?

1 bird, 5 par, 5 bogey - end up with a 99. What an up and down round. Was plus 11 after the first three, almost just went home after those.
