Probably not that far. Will be staying in Chanhassen area and drinking heavily so anything on the west side would be best. Have a tee time at Braemar and Deer Run so far. Was thinking the Wilds but thought that was a bit overpriced last time. Outside chance of playing Hazeltine one day as well.

The Chaska Town Course.. Great track laid down by Arthur Hills, also co-hosted the 2006 US Amateur Championship..

Chaska Town Course, probably the nicest public course in the metro and right by chanhassen. Meadows at Mystic Lake is a much better course and experience than The Wilds (overpriced), they usually have pretty awesome twilight rates and now they can serve alcohol on the rez! If you want to drive a bit further out, Legends GC in Lakeville/Prior Lake is a beautiful course that is definitely challenging and always in top shape.

I love MN in the summer and miss all the public golf options, should be a blast.

Played in our league tonight. 9 holes. Started out fine, but between looking for everyone's balls, inhaling cigarette and cigar smoke, and this guys fucking cologne, well, I was a disaster. Truly pathetic. My head was shot. Didn't even stay for drinks. Not sure the random draw league is my thing. If rather play alone and carry. So much more meditative.

The guy on my cart I've played with before. He had 2 loaded g pens and I had my new Nimbus and a bone, but no lighter. :-).

I like the way you think.

The cologne was so strong it's inconceivable he applied it before work. So what's the thought princess? Time to golf with the fellas, better splash on some polo?

    Bug spray is your friend.
Teeing off with out a lighter is worse than a triple on the first hole.

Use the bug spray and lighter to light the guy on fire?

Cigar guy was a whistler too. Not songs, just, I don't know how to describe it, he gets torched too.

+1 but I use push cart. No mosquitos in Bay Area.

Shot 80 at Monarch birdies with three birdies today. Hadn't played in a month since Ohio and it showed. Fun to get back out. Nice to be next to the Bay with the cool breeze. 105 degrees inland.

Played the front at the Meadows last night. Really got the driver back. Came within 20 yards of driving the green on the 365 yard #1 (straightaway) and also the 377 yard #5 (cut the corner). Just opened my stance a bit and everything fell into place. Absolutely crushed the ball all night... Which resulted in 4 pars and zero birdies. I didn't keep score, but it wouldn't have been great.

Played Hazeltine National yesterday. What a great course. 7100 yards from the blues with a slope of 152. Had the nerves for the first couple holes and blew up, but started playing a little better and finished with a 90. Greens were so fucking firm I had to play euro style on a few of my approach shots. I would have been open to trying all that shit if it helped my chances of holding the greens.

3 rounds so far with the new irons, AP2's, having been asked what I expected to gain its hard to tell. I've gotten some distance back, about 10+ yards per club, thats nice. Getting off tee really well so Ive had plenty of opportunity to play from the short stuff, that helps. Love hitting these flush, its effortless. My index is down to a 10.1. Really glad I made the switch, we'll see.

Bag full of lighters in Jersey.

There has to be a reason for this other than new club. Different shaft flex or loft? That's more than a full club difference.

Didn't Aldo say he was playing with some old Hogan blades or something? 10 yards could easily just be from playing a club that has a sweet spot bigger than the contact area of a golf ball.

And lofts are much stronger now. Six iron is the new 5 iron.
