Love this game. We were able to play 2 weeks ago at a course just over the hill. Played with a Dad and Daughter who drove 150 miles to play. When we tried to make another Tee time (since they are open) we had to wait..... 2 WEEKS. That was this week and I felt like a 10 yr old on his birthday when the day came.

Meanwhile wile I waited, and waited....

I started in the front yard (this was a dead lawn) and I had a butt ton of pine needles to rake first in the back. I mean a butt ton, and I never removed them and was lazy the past few summers and piled them in 1 big spot (1 spot was right where I wanted to put my new mat). Woops! I had some work to do though....and a wife to keep happy...so off to work we go.

I have been eyeing Booners backyard set up with much fanfare. I sprung on the "B" grade and can very much vouch for its very good condition. This B grade mat is better than the ones at my course. Opted for the same net but was given the runaround and it became backorderededed!( Fuck that was a waist of a good week)

Dug a flat spot &tamped it down. Built a 5 x 5 wood frame. Filled the frame with crushed gravel and sand and tamped it again.

Back yard chipping course! Net should be here Wednesday.

Noice. My wife mentioned getting rid of some dandylions in the yard so I took a whack at it.

    Nice!

Grab a couple cinder blocks (the small ones should be fine) to put on the back posts of the frame.

It's a sail in the wind and tips over.

I just set mine face down on windy days because I haven't gotten cinder blocks yet
If it's green, smoke it...if it's pink, poke it

Four Stars for Illinois Covid-Related Golf Rules! They should make them permanent! Walking twosomes only, spaced at 15 minute intervals. Yesterday (a Sunday!) played a mid-day 18 in 3:30. Didn't wait a single second and felt like we were the only group on the course--which just opened and was in perfect shape. Private club experience at muni prices!

I reserved the tee times for the Old Farts Golf and Dinner League I said to the pro if it was twosomes only we'd need to book the whole day. We can take carts but the two riders have to be sleeping together.

Played with my "fair weather golfer" boyfriend plus two friends last Sunday.
Shot 52 (2 bunkers, 3 shots each to get out) and 45.
No birdie, 5 par, 5 bogey, some doubles, triples and two 8 (bunkers!!!).
Beautiful weather, so much fun, laughter, boyfriend's bad shoulder held up and sunburned.
Can't wait to do it again!

Hacked it around in SLC Friday for a 112, had a few ok holes, but I really need to stop pushing my irons.

Played a 9 hole course today, not long not super difficult.

-1 after six, thought about how I might finish and on the 7th tee completely threw up on myself, hard shank dead right, ended up with triple on that hole.

Funny how you can be playing so well and the wheels just fall off.

Ended up with a 38, par was 34 still really good for me but oh it could have been so much better.

jesus.... I suck at golf. 46 with covid (foot chip) rules in please. 4 pars and just exploded on the other holes. Fucking train wreck of a game but slim glimmers of hope. Stuck a 8 iron up close and proceeded to miss the put. Laying 6 (tin cup) and laced a 5 iron 2' from pin.... missed put, mark it edit. 9

I had a great fucking time though.

Walking 9 with couple buddies in the afternoon sun, cold beers out of the bag. Nips out of the flask. Good times.

    Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-

WA state opened golf yesterday. Beautiful sunny day is about all I got out of my first 18 of the year. 3 putted the 18th to go 38-39. 37 putts in total - just a shameful display of how not to putt . It was great to get away from the house and back on the course!

    Beauty.

Weather was full sun, wind and a moist 75 in my old far couples league. Vibe was spooky. Masks. Social distance dissonance. First two foresoms had left before we got in. Wife and I got burgers to go and drove across the road to eat and watch the elk herd graze. I had two one putt pars and that's about it.

40’s feel like 30’s with 20 plus mph wind.
    Bethpage was impeccable today.

Played the green all to myself.
15-20 mins tee time terms allowed the course wide open until 9th hole.
Little bit of wait here and there back 9, but walking 3 hours 14 mins round isn’t something to complain.

    Black looks perfect.

    Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-

Got a big one this weekend...2 man scramble against most of the top dogs in Rochester. Most everyone is a plus hcp and competes a lot

My game is dialed (-1 yesterday in cold weather with a bunch of missed putts) and my partner is a complete stud (div 1 and some mini tour)

    LFG!!

Managed to hack my way around for 18 today. Dam was a good time though.

Today it finally clicked mid hole 16. Laced the final 2 drives and 2nd shots. Managed to blow both puts (within 3') for birdie, settle for par. I am out of golf shape big time, zero memory in the swing but glimmers of hope.

Took me a little while to figure things out (12th hole) but was striking the ball better from there on. For the most part.

Incredibly on the 2nd hole, someone from the adjoining fairway came over and played my ball! What an A-hole! Obviously never looked at the ball because I found and played his and it was another brand. People.

Got a quick 9 in before work today with a buddy.

It’s nice to be out on the course and in the company of a human that doesn’t share my last name after the lockdown.

After a rough start, 7 on the 1st, I was able to grind out all pars and bogies for the rest of the round.

I have been really trying to control ALL of my emotions when out on the course (This includes screaming at others that are not in my group for being stupid, I do have Golf Course Pet Peeves)

Last year I lost it one time. I did walk away a few times (Bachelor Party Hitting into a wrong green with us on it without saying FORE) and I still cannot help myself from making my presence known from time to time. I am talking full emotional melt downs.

Some knucklehead came into our fairway - we were on 4 they were on 8 - My playing partners ball was smack dead in the middle of our fairway.
The shmuck (I guess) asks the group IN FRONT of us if the ball is theirs. They say no. He plays my partners ball.
Now we are screaming our heads off from the Tee box "That is our Ball"
They play back to their fairway. We drive up to our "ball" since mine was still in play. Of course they played my partners ball.
We drive over to their hole to confront them. My partner had NEW balls and holds them out and asks for his ball back.
Their response - "Those Guys Said it Was Not Their Ball"

NO SH*T Dip Stick they were not the ones whos BALL it was and we did not get the ball back....I didn't make my friend take a penalty.
