Long irons don’t work well anymore because the ball doesn’t spin like it used too. You can still get a ball that spins, but you’ll lose a lot of distance off the tee.

Just be cautious/aware that hybrids are manufactured/marketed for distance. I use a steel shaft cut down to 1/4" over iron length so it goes the same distance a well hit iron would so my yardage gaps are correct. If I used my hybrid the way the factory would build it (about an inch longer w/graphite shaft) it would go 10-15 yds longer and be way less accurate than my setup
If it's green, smoke it...if it's pink, poke it

    Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-

My 27 degree hybrid has a different shaft and launches higher than my 24 and 21. I might cut that one 1/4in or so next grip change. It is hard to manage as a gap club like booner says. Especially at that 170~ distance.

I’m hitting my driver well enough that the 3 wood can come out of the bag. That leaves me room for 19 hybrid.

Agree; have a 5H that I usually don’t play and it def goes 10-15 yards more than my 5i.

Blew my lower back out bad couple days ago leaning over to pet Shitface. I have a huge match tonight so I just went to the range to give it a go and swing is unaffected...everything was pure. I can barely get out of the car.

    Weird

Fed ex just dropped my new clubs at the office. I want to sneak out early but I’m booked solid. Maybe I’ll have to hit the range later

4 doubles, gotta stop doing that. Tough track from the back tees, talking stick in Pueblo, no Provo sittings or meth heads.

    Nice score!

Last Friday and Saturday I played Chambers, Gold Mountain, and Trophy Lake. All fabulous tracks! That said, I can now confirm the glory days of my youth are gone. I was destroyed when I got home. (Many beers etc also probably did not help...)

Very curious to hear a report. I’m a mizuno guy 100%. But it’s interesting to see a new player on the scene. Their marketing is very aggressive. I personally fucking hate their TV ads. But they are bringing new tech to iron construction.

I have a complete inability to perform competently in more than two facets of this game at one time. I was absolutely crushing my irons and driver today. Putting shots where i wanted them for the most part. But, without fail, I would chunk the fuck out of any shot within 130 yards, skull anything around the green, and miss any putt for birdie.

I’d guess too much arm. Make sure your chest faces the target on follow through.

My ability to play great and still score poorly is unmatched. The squall blowing in the last three holes contributed to it.

Before this weekend my best on any single 9 was 40 and my best total was 85.

Hit an 84 on Saturday night then came out and hit a 45 on the front followed by a 34 (!!!) on the back, for a total of 79 of Sunday. The back was crazy, three birdies and no bogies until 18. 12 putts.

So stoked, but now have completely unrealistic expectations.

So I been practicing with a Cobra S2 forged 6 iron with nippon 1130 tour. Now that I have my tempo adjusted I’m hitting that club really great. The extra weight keeps me in balance

I don't think long irons ever worked well.
