Heading over to the BMW this afternoon. I'll be at some sort of shindig in a tent on 16. Hopefully, copious amounts of hookers, blow and drunken players' wives (I'm looking at you, Mrs. Duffner). Wish me luck.

I've heard of worm burns, but damn, that's a worm bomb.
On the bright side, you get a drop for imbedded ball.

Well the good news is you don't own MP-64s, MP-67s, MP-29s, and MS-7s like I do. I have problems.

How do you like 64s? I've heard little more feel vs 63...little less forgiveness. Probably pretty close in both categories though

I like the 64s, although I wish the lofts weren't so strong. The PW is 46 degrees and it leaves a big gap between that and my 52. My hope is that I'll get consistent enough to go back to the 67s. The 64s are like a BMW, and the 67s are like a Ferrari.

So the last 2 weeks were the best stretch of New England fall golf in a long time. Ending the season with 2 days of golf at Torrey Pines next weekend for a wedding. Feeling good about the end of the season and looking forward to snow.

I hear ya. Same lofts on 63s. 33s have a 48* PW and I go 48, 52, 54, 60 now. I have a nasty flop shot with the 60 so I'm not touching the loft on her. Plus I've used a 60* since i was 13 and I'm not going back. A 46* PW is just retarded. I'd go 48 but don't want to change bounce that much, so I'm going to bend 3-PW 1* weak and go 47, 51(bend 52 1* strong), 55(bend 54 1* weak), 60. The 63s are a hair weak on bounce and this will take a hair of offset off too, which should be perfect.

Yeah, every time I walk off a 135 yardage I'm like "damn." And like booner, I don't want to fuck with the bounce. So my options are to start nutting everything and go back to the 67s. A boy can dream.

Anyone have experience with the R1 or the slider? It is time to upgrade from my R9. Love it but after 3+ years of 80 plus rounds, it is time. Kind of Taylor Made guy when it comes to drivers. Prob will demo a bunch but any info would help. thanks

I liked the R1 a lot. But, I ended up buying a Titleist 913D2. It's the first Driver I have liked in many years. You play enough to know that driver is all about the shaft and I tried a bunch at Titleist Demo days (regular Diamana for me). If you can demo at an outdoor range it's much better. I also got a 12 degree head and I'm REALLY happy with the extra loft. It's easier to keep in play.

X2 for titleist drivers. IMO taylormade and titleist are the driver kings. Ping has been putting out some good ones too. I use a 905s (deep face 410cc) and refuse to switch to anything newer. If I did though... It would be a 910, maybe 913. It has a boring(out of the wind and rolls out well) trajectory and I always hit it on the screws(misses are fades when my right side is weak through impact) and I absolutely smash the ball with her. It's also known as one of the most workable drivers ever... And it is. Not forgiving though. I use a gafalloy blue stiff. Low torque that plays like an x-stiff. All other clubs are x-stiff.

Thanks for the info. Strange thing is I have stock shaft (stiff) that worked great for me. Tried many other shafts and got same spin, launch, etc. Crazy, I still dont understand why, but think that new driver = aftermarket shaft which = more cash.

My Titleist is stock Diamana Blue R shaft. I tried a number of the aftermarket options. I'm just saying that shaft makes the driver whether it is stock or aftermarket.

Not sure about Taylormade, but I'm assuming they have similar options as Titlelist....there isn't a single "stock" shaft. They have a bunch of options from the factory. The full spectrum of shaft options are totally different from each other. ie. Low/high torque...low/mid/high kick....reg/stiff/x-stiff. Swing speed should determine flex and kick point and torque is based on personal preference. Tempo is a bit of a factor for torque IMO. Quick tempo/transition at top would be better suited for low torque....just to get tighter dispersion

Was at a buddy's house last week and he escorted me to the garage to check out his new toy (don't get excited Rontele).

Apparently, there are only a handful of these things in the world right now but Pebble has two on order. It is a swing simulator that will perfectly mimic either a generic "on plane" swing or you can have it mimic any pro player who has been on the machine or any pro player's swing that was uploaded via video. I know Tiger, Sergio and Kite have been on this machine, so I can feel exactly what their swing feels like (machine assists with accounting for height, limb length etc). You can watch them side by side, stop at any point, etc.

I was in and out the other night but plan on fucking around with this sucker this weekend and will report back. My friend who is a 20 year pro said that it has vastly improved his game and he is putting his clubs in places he actually had never really felt previously based on certain pga swings.
