Yeah. Get a new pitching wedge if you dont like it,
or grind it down....dont be surprised if your irons are some cast construction that will fall apart if you do the grinding hahahaha...
Ive got a bunch of stuff i'm getting rid of.
Titleist 915 23 degree hybrid, stiff shaft. 75 bux
910 hybrid 21 degree, stiff blue board shaft. 50 bux.
Bunch of Vokey wedges in various states of condition, 25- 50 bux
couple of brand new, newer model Adams drivers. Stiff and X flex Japanese brand shafts. 9.5 both. can adjust face angle loft with a wrench. 75 shipped.
2 Titleist Iron sets, Muscle backs and some CB 690s, both forged. Aero Tech shafts on the blades and RECOIL shafts on the CB set. 100 each set plus shipping.Terje was right.

I was talking to my caddy. You were inside the ropes. Must have helped as I used a cart, which I hate, and game wise had the feeling that I was throwing up all over my shoes on every hole yet came in respectable. Each 4some was made up from a member of a different club with a similar handicap. When a guy in our 4some from the host club asked me "Was that a 4 Wooley?" and I told him it was a 6 he said "Even your double bogies look like pars. Smooth." That felt good. I paid the compliment back with a golf joke that he had never heard.

HaHa! Just for Shitz and giggles I looked at the groves on my 20 y o PW with a jewelers loop last week. The upper edges of the grooves looked like they'd been chopping rocks instead of hitting golf balls. The leading edge has dings on top of dings. Try every day to make yours look like mine. Save your money and lower your score.
But if you are convinced iin your mind that a shiny new club will help you score better, it will. Funny game.Last edited by wooley12; 08-22-2017 at 10:43 PM.

Same.
I replace my wedges about every 2 yrs. I can tell it's time for new wedges now because the ball is releasing vs typical check up.
I play a ball (TP5 X)that checks up rather than spins back. I'll spin the ball right off the green with the regular version of a TP5 or pro V.
With relatively new wedges my ball hits...bounces forward...spins back right about to ball mark. I'm getting too much release now and ending up ahead of my ball mark too often so I know it's time to replace the wedgesIf it's green, smoke it...if it's pink, poke it

the only clubs i've ever bought were my 15 year old adams set that came with the bag for $100 about 8 years ago. most of the grooves were worn on them and they were somewhat dinged up. the clubs i just dinged the pw on are infinitely better and i intend to have them as long as i can play. i have no inclination to replace anything. i never even buy new balls. having never dinged a nice club, i wasn't sure if there is some typical treatment.

Just funnin ya. I have carried a rep in my golf as being snobbishly cheap. I've had only 3 sets of clubs in 60 years. I still have my first set with aluminum shafts. Forged blade with a heads the size of a pack of matches it seems compared to a modern club. I put the 7 iron in my bag occasionally just for kicks and reminiscing. I normally carry 13 clubs so there is room.

Funny you should mention the number of clubs. I'm playing with 11-12 clubs these days. I took out the clubs that allow me to make stupid/heroic decisions: 3-wood and lob wedge.
I'm currently trying only 2 clubs between my 4-wood and my 6 iron (21* and 24* hybrids). Usually don't miss having my 5-iron.Last edited by 54-46; 08-23-2017 at 01:02 PM.

I have a set. The Tin Cup GC & Country Store had a tourney that made everyone hit a shortie driver off the first tee.
I think I was about 25 before I beat my pop for the first time.A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
