Port Royal Golf Course.
Hosts PGA Bermuda Championship in late October to early November.
Stunning holes with lots of elevation changes.
Prettiest par 3 I’ve ever played.

Tucker’s Point Golf Club.
Private but can play as guest.
Serious elevation changes and tough green to read.
Bunkers killed my scorecard but regardless had a great time.
Started good but once I hit bunkers, all fell apart.
Need a friend there.
Need a friend there, too.
Absolutely gorgeous.

I got pretty good at bunker shot since I got in so many times.
But this particular course’s bunker (Port Royal has “normal” PGA bunkers) has more red clay/earth like than sand which was a whole lot heavier to push through.
So when I hit the normal behind the ball, it only got outta bunker and rolled back.
Then I tried shallow shot which sent the ball over the green.
I must had 15 extra shots because of these bunkers.

You're worthy IMO. Bustin yer chops. I've been tossed from one really nice private course, and a few public ones too. Once while I was keeping score .

Weather looking good for ya. I played about 30 rounds this year in jeans. Probably should think about upping my game if I'm going to shoot my age..

Anyone else do stack and tilt? I’ve been playing around with it, and so far like the results - a. lot.
Hadn’t played much the last few years due to work and Texas heat in the summers, but somehow got the bug to play, so I figured I better spend some time on the range.
Good thing I did, because I was hitting every shot fat, which is hard to ignore on a grass range (as opposed to mats).
Tried to fix it with a tip I got from my pro in my last lesson a couple years ago, which was to swing more around my body rather than lifting the club. That helped some to shallow out divots, but I was still hitting fat.
Then I recalled stack and tilt which i had looked at several years ago, but never did anything with it back then. It just seemed to go against the way the golf swing was commonly taught at the time. But I remember that the main point of the S&T swing is control the low point of the swing so it occurs after the ball rather than before (for iron shots).
So I watch a few videos. The key ideas a pretty simple and straightforward. On the range I almost immediately see improvement. A few of shots are bombs going much farther than I’m used to. Sure makes a difference to have clean contact. There’s still a fairly large variation between shots, but I like the results much better than before. I may need to spend the next month on the range before attempting to play with it. I have no idea what my distances are at this point.

I had to do S&T after having my right ACL replaced this year. I played 9 weeks after surgery, so I had 70% of my weight on my left left with an open feet and square shoulders to minimize any torque on the knee. I was amazed how much higher the ball flight was especially with my hybrid. That put me into a noticeable increase in my in to out swing path and the ball was really drawing , more than I was used to. Now that I'm healing up, old habits are coming back and I start swaying and not getting back on the left side, so I do an extreme S&T do straighten me out during a round

Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-
Went to bed around 1am.
4am, boyfriend started snoring REALLY loud and cat started going crazy.
Gave up on sleep, arrived in Bethpage 6:30am, got in the car line in the parking lot to get a ticket.
Blue and Yellow are the only ones open over the winter, so I will play Yellow since I’ve never played before.
Will be back with more report.

Great time at Bethpage Yellow.
Played with 3 other gentlemen.
Two of them were club champions so it was a lot of fun to watch them play.
Didn’t have winter forward tees and played from middle tees (white).
54/49, 103 total with 38 putts.
No one in the front, free to play, 3 hours and 15 mins to walk the 18.
Now I get why people wake up super early to play.

Did an A/B test with Mizuno MP-18 MMC and my MP-60s, and the MMCs seemed just fine. But, I’m so used to the softer feel of the MP-60s that I sent back the MMCs. Could use a little help in 4-6i part of bag, but great feel > forgiveness. Search continues...

Play practice rounds late by yourself. Hit three tee balls etc. if you lose a few so what.. just don’t pelt the green with approach shots. Aim for trap or fringe. Not cool to nick up the greens. Play different approaches and work different chips with one club. Drop balls around the green and use one club for every shot. Could be pw or 60 degree. Repeat.
