    Oregon is absolutely breathtaking.

    Thank you.
But I’m not satisfied and still working on it.

I took a Nippon 130s forged head 6 to the range today and used it to slow my tempo. I figured out how to swing it and it helped but back to my shovels.

The gold mine in Ketchum has some r7’s and r11 drivers for under $50, picked up these two for $12 out the door. Click image for larger version.

Seemed to have turned a corner. My last 3 rounds have all been mid 80s. It’s all about tempo for me!

Do you drink or smoke when you play? Eat a snack?

Played a course in Heber today designed by Jack Nicklaus. Really beautiful, super fun, and very tough. Haven’t played since pre-pandemic so it was a rough welcome back.

I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I don't usually drink beer while playing and I usually have a snack in the bag. In this case, I started to get ahead of myself and went for aggressive shots over water. I knew I should have played it safe, that started the downturn.

That’s good. I mentioned it because the downhill slope is steep when it goes bad from drinking.

    I putt better when drinking.
    But shot selection is impaired.

40-45 today. The Good. Drove 2 par 4s to 73 and 40 yds. Bad. Bogeyed both holes. 1 DB. 1 Other. GIR's were scarce but sunk most of my putts inside of 5'. Made mediocre look easy.

So we're a 4some following a 3some. Wives of my partners. By the time we get to 12 the the 12th tee the ladies are long gone and there is no one behind us. Players Assistant pulls up and tells us we're behind and need to pick up the pace. My 80 yo buddy laughs and tells the PA "Yeah, well they skipped 3 holes".

    Good day at golf today.

    Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-

I been working on hitting a cut and played really well with it today. Scored poorly at 81 with three sloppy doubles and shaky putting.
Easy par 71 course @5600 yds.

8iron high cut around a tree from 100 yds to 15' was on my highlight reel.

Joined the local track and finally playing a bunch. Girls are old enough to go with me now. Trying to get a road legal cart and then I’ll be dialed.

5 birdies in league and only pulled one skin.

    I'll be in the corner

Am I nuts for considering golfing in San Antonio in a couple weeks? Is it absolutely brutal heat and humidity?

Not if you do it right IMO. Drink lots of water. Stay shaded with hat and umbrella.

Ho-hum bogie on 1 yesterday. Pulled a drive but had me a 10' window to the flag. Knockdown 5I hit the tree on the left and ball kicked left. Over cooked another knockdown 5 to just off the back of the green. Chip and a putt. A 5 is way better than 6 when you can't make birdies like Booner.
