On any money bets, you should demand to be allowed to tee it up in the fairway or rough through to the green until you are healed. Try for an extra stroke or two per side as well.

And know you know what to do when the shot calls for either 85 or 90. Good.

I’d lose the lob wedge.

56 -14 and 60 -6 they do make a nice pair greenside. I can handle any trap on any course in any condition. I have really been thinking though that I need to just play with a little more smarts instead of always hitting the driver because it's more fun. I am pretty consistent with my Irons so it is more about leaving it outside 125 or just inside 100. Not 100 or the silly stuff inside 60 yds. Got the GPS app with the yardage archs and have been playing to just inside 150. I need to remember it is scoring outcomes not how far you can hit the Driver. Silly silly game.

Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-
I went from 56 and 60 to 54 and 58 and it helped a lot.
I ski 135 degree chutes switch to the road.

/\+1. I can control a 58 much better than a 60.
50-54-58 for me.

^^ same. I’ve also found the 54 to be my go to wedge around the greens, far more than my 56 ever was. It’s weird what a difference 2 degrees can make.

Yeah, I’m into my 54* and work the others around it.
PW/46 115
GW/50 105
SW/54 95
54 x .75 = 75
54 x .50 = 60
LW/58 shortside/greenside/hero lob shot, only
I take the 58* out of the bag more than half the time to avoid trying dumbass hero shots

I use an open face on my SW for chip shots that need to land like a butterfly with sunburned feet. Light grip with a shallow swing and practice, lots of practice.

Yes lots of practice. I’ve been using my 62 for most shots around the green for the past couple years and now scrambling has become the best part of my game. I’ve learned to hit all sorts of different shots with it. Whatever you’re most comfortable with!

49-47: 96. i've been working on some things recently. things that lead to hooks. just killed me today. one good note is that i had 29 putts, 12 on the back, including 7 one putts and a really difficult downhill chip-in. could have been a lot better. could have been a lot worse. 4 triples or worse.

Another super windy day.
Played 9 hole at Skyway Golf Course in Jersey City, NJ.
Nice little track with great operation.
Well taken care and the view was nice.
Got 3 pars (all par 3s) 3 doubles and the rest... got real ugly combination of narrow fairways, 20+mph wind and tall fescues.
Will go back again.

Got 3 pars in a row yesterday to finish the front 9... par 5 par 4 and par 3... then a few bad, bad trips to the beach and botched chips... finished with a 102

that is pretty impressive. i have a ball retriever and the boy and i have a regular ritual of scrub, dry, mark.
i get titleist, taylormade, callaway, nike
he gets top flite, pinnacle, wilson staff.
if i find more than i lose, it's a good day. i have played several times with a guy who has a 20' ball retriever and he's found close to 100 balls on a slow round. he also just finished probation for road rage after a guy cut him off driving into the golf course.

If I find good conditioned balls, I keep them for later or water hazard holes.
Not so great ones, I’ll send them to the ball haven at a driving range.
Great job, wyeaster.
You are also teaching the boy to be resourceful and frugal.

Shot a 92 today. 40 front 9 then I got cocky and beers caught up and shot a normal shitty 52 on the back. Still buzzing, playing again tomorrow.

i almost didnt play the back because i was out of energy after 9 and stopped for the boy to eat and i lost what little i had left. but i also felt like this was my best chance to date to break 90 so i had to try. total collapse. couldn't find a fairway, bunkers were wet concrete, just an exhausting struggle. saved par on 17 putting from off the green, hit a perfect drive on 18, hit a great approach, thought it was heading for the flag, heard something, no ball to be found. took the penalty, chipped to 4 feet. bogey. 89. the boy was screaming his head off

Go out for a couple rounds last week. First nine holes was rough.
Shot 78 the second round at Trenton CC, cool old school golf.
