It doesn't suprise me that this happened at this location. Its kinda ground zero for the culture war. There is history there. Bums me out that its just another spot sold out for clicks, eyeballs, followers and so on.

He'll get a jury in Summit to side with him and be super confused. Lesh will have a pretty good attorney who will turn the jury upside with confusion about the law and the charges.

I bet he is found NOT GUILTY.

David Lesh arrested for FD Virtika Last Friday video

My brother in law went for jury duty this morning in Summit Co.
He just text me this morning to let me know that it’s “one of” the David Lesh trials.
I assume it’s the assault trial. I hope he gets selected on the jury so I can update us any good intel.

We need standard way of shaming anyone caught wearing Virtika gear. In a manner that they will understand, and feel completely ridiculed and stop wearing the gear no matter how big of a douche they are. Any ideas?

Rollerblading was extremely popular in the 1990's, especially it's trick oriented version known as "aggressive skating."

Around that same time period a massive new generation of skate boarders started up who were all 10-18 y/o. As teenagers do, they looked for any and every way they could distance themselves from anybody who wasn't down with what they were down with (recall middle school classic arguments such as "You're a basser, I'm a metal head, you suck!"). During this time the joke "Do you know what's the hardest thing about rollerbalding? Punchline: Telling your parents you're gay!" became full force and permeated every skate park in the US. Animosity between boards and bladers (well lets be honest, between boarders and anybody else in a skate park that wasn't on a board) reached it's height in the early naughts and by 2004 rollerblading was kicked out of the Xgames entirely and went "underground."

It's probably best not to confront little kids in liftlines about their clothing choices.

To that point... maybe it's as simple as saying, "hmmm... I thought Virtika was for children"...

This is probably obvious, but: don't pump him for info until the trial is over. Don't ask him any more details now.

Are we all expected to research the owners history of every piece of clothing before buying.?

Shit, I’ve got some research to do.

For what it's worth I felt cringe and shame watching someone ski in virtika in Switzerland.

I work with/ occasionally ski with a guy who skis in a virtika jacket. As hard as I try to make him feel bad about wearing gear sold by such a POS, he won't bite. He says that it was free from some pro that his daughter dates and he likes all of the zippers.

Then he goes on to say that if he was gonna feel bad about his material positions based on how shitty the people are who make and sell the stuff, the list is long and varied. He started with his Tesla model S and it went down hill from there.

    yep!

Absent a deadly weapon or serious bodily injury (doesn't sound like they had an SBI from signed by a doctor), my guess is the jury couldn't get to consenus on if he used 'sufficient force' to restrict blood flow/breathing.
Jury instructions often involve an option to convict on lesser but related offenses, hence assault3 and discon.
They agree he was the guilty one, just didn't agree on how much damage he did to the other guy - not surprising given the circumstances.

It's a win, and a good job by the prosecution.

I'm genuinely surprised the FAA hasn't suspended his license. Oh wait who am I kidding, the FAA comes after people who saw a shrink once, 15 years ago.
