Key West Recommendations
Heading to Key West in April with my old man, cousin, and uncle for a fishing trip.
Flying into Miami and driving down to Key West.
Looking for some places to stop along the way for grub and beers, or any must see places. We won't be opposed to multiple stops that involve beers.
Also looking for places in Key West to eat/drink, mostly nighttime activity, we will be out on a charter all day.
The young guns may need some late night action as well.
The dads are in their early 60s, we are late 30s to give an idea of the demographic we are dealing with.
Thanks in advance.

I have stayed at the Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada. Great fishing there. Pierre's is a great place to eat.
Key West has all sorts of bars, pick any. A&B Lobster House is a pretty good place to eat.
I always just stay in Islamorada now, and don't venture down to Key West.

Was down there last July...I'd give you some better rec's but I don't remember much.
A&B Lobster was good but pricey. We went to one of those places that served meat on spits called Braza Lena...was good, if I recall.
My son is a waiter at the Hard Rock...you could always go there. It's on Duval street I think along with about a million bars. The Sheriff is near!

There's this great little guest house in Key West with cool cottages surrounding a very cool tropical pool....but I forgot the name.
For eating, there's this great little side-street outdoor/indoor bistro with the BEST caribbean-style food on the island....but I forgot the name.
For drinking...there's this fantastic little bar tucked in by itself on yet another side-street that mixes the meanest drinks in town and is cheap, to boot...but I forgot the name.
Hope this helps.

Where is the charter out of, Key West bight, or Stock Island?
I can fill your nighttime schedule with recs.
Where are you staying? This is a big factor.
For late night for the younger guys, Teasers is all you need to know. Upstairs from Rick`s.
On the way down, make sure to stop at Robbies and feed the Tarpon. Stop at World Wide Sportsman- the original Bass Pro Shop, and eat lunch at the restaurant on the side. Great fish sandwiches.
Fill in the other info, and I will get you a good list.

1st - Rent bikes from Island cycles the ppl there are awesome.
If there is a day you are not fishing start your day at Pepe's on Caroline Street or Bananas Cafe on Duval. Capt Tony s has Pirate Punch which is a great way to start the night. Have dinner at Blue Heaven on Thomas Street. Turtle krul on Tuesday night has a turtle race kind of fun cool area, its across the street from Pepe's.
What I like to do (my mother in law has a house just off Duval) is try and see how many cozies I can collect during my stay. The Rule is you have to get at least one drink from every place you get one. Just be sure to look behind the store fronts on Duval some of the bars go on forever and seem to turn into different bars.
Oh Louie's Backyard is a great place to watch the sunset and not deal with a cruise ship crowd its at the end of Vernom Street.
Capt Tonys
I hope you do better then my last try.

7 Fish is great.
There is this martini place that we hit back in November-
Virgilios-
http://virgilioskeywest.com/
This place is very dangerous. Beware. VERY good live music, and VERY potent drinks.
We went there 2 nights, and payed for it all day the next day.
We had a really nice dinner at Cafe Marquesa too. Pretty pricey though.

I think grayhound goes that way. You might even be able the get a shuttle form the airport. Camping I'm not sure there a a ton of homeless people I guess they sleep on the beach? There are public showers at the beach. I'm unsure of the best snorkeling but we always have fun out at the Dry Tortugas National Park.

There's not really a beach in Key West, but the Marriott has built one for their guests only. If you just walk in the front door into the lobby like you own the place no one will stop you, they don't know who's staying there. The beach is straight out back. There is also a pool and a beachside bar right there at the beach, it's a pretty nice set-up, they have waitress service on the beach, lounge chairs, umbrellas, you'll be stylin'. They even have towels available, you just grab one. Or twelve, whatever, you're a guest.
Worked like a charm for us. If you're driving don't park where the bellmen can see you get out of your car.

Here is one of the smaller beaches.
Also at this beach is a restaurant called Salute its good. If you have kids they can play on the beach while you eat and drink.
If from here you go north there is a beach that is maybe half a mile long. Unfortunately we have a pool at the house so we don't go often and my 13 year old thinks its gross that there are top womans. I am always ready to go the beach on the other hand.
The best beach you have to pay $10 its over near the annex but it pretty nice.People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Just went there this winter for long weekend. Couple of things that I could suggest.
If you got a free day rent a scooter its like 25 bucks and you can cruise around the island.
For food you have to go to the conch shack. It's a little tiny booth on duval street make sure you get a lobster roll and some conch fritters. We ate out a ton and this place was amazing cheap and some of the best food I've ever eaten.
Seven fish was good eats as well.
All post more when I get on the computer and not on the phone.
