TR: The Falcon, 3/21/2012, Southern Tetons
On the first day of Spring, under graybird skies, and two days after one of the best dumps of the season, we skied the Falcon.
While some of you may have heard this line referred to as something else, the old timer's call it Falcon because of a man-made Peregrine roost that was perched in the cliffs at the top, back in the days when this line was getting skied on 210cm tele gear.
Nowadays, there is no good skiing to be had over here...
A view you don't see very often.
So we milked it, and the top was still deep blower, which got thicker and more settled with every turn.
Then we channeled the birds of pray who fly around these hills...
The proof. Notice the upper 10 footer, which lead so nicely into the 20 footer.
Even got one picture of me, before the battery died.
The goods.
One day we shall return, and fly with the falcons once more...Skiing, whether you're in Wisconsin or the Alps, is a dumbass hick country sport that takes place in the middle of winter on a mountain at the end of a dirt road.
