Maybe he looked the GSA in the eyes, and died in fiery rapture.
May the GSA have mercy on his soul.

But seriously, vibes to anyone who knew him, 47...wow. Way too young.

Wow. Vibes to the family and friends.

...also to the lifties that dealt with that; couldn't have been too fun.

Sad news. RIP skier. Thoughts and prayers to family and friends.

Hate to speculate here and now how he passed so I won't. Hopefully he did not suffer and went peacefully. Way too young.

Vibes to his family . . . that's tragic . . . there is no such thing as a good way to go when you are 47 and have a family.

Happened to a kid at (H) a few years back too. Over on the NV side. Kid fell off the lift early season. Everybody thought the fall is what killed him. Turned out he had some kind of heart defect, and he was dead before he even fell off the chair.

Yeah, the kid who fell off dipper a few years ago was assumed to have died from the impact. An autopsy released much, much later detailed a physiological problem that caused the fall from the chair, but not necessarily dead before prematurely unloading.

Hate to do this but there is a good thread on this over at AlpineZone with some first hand accounts of what happened. Apparently it was a massive heart attack.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

actualy while riding the chair last week I had the thot that I can't think of a better place to check out than riding the chair, note this would be dying of natural causes not while being a human lawn dart
