my job sucks.
also: how do they handle slides across the road that have big trees in them? I'm assuming they have to go dig out / cut up the trees before the big snowblowers can run through it?

Bomb diggity
I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....
Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Really cool video, 2 thoughts about the first slide, wow it was fast, and I saw at least 3 GazX tubes in the start zone and it took a bomb to set it off? Interesting.

I would think they'd get a Daisy Bell instead of throwing charges?

We tried a daisy bell at our little hill and found standard old school heli bombing to be more effective

From what I heard from the local avalanche techs it is a lot less fun when they have to heli bomb in next to zero visibility.
Not a dream job unless you want to work EVERY powder day (and plenty of nights too). Sitting in a truck all night watching for sluffs is less fun than the chopper and explosives.
