I'm looking at a trip along the Teton Crest in early April. Going in at Teton Pass, along the trail through Alaska Basin, out Cascade Canyon.

I've been watching the Teton avalanche conditions reports, and the fluctuating avy conditions.

However, I'm curious about snow depth and snow cover. Can anyone give me any predictions about what we're likely to find?

Will there be lots of snow coverage in Cascade Canyon? What are things like generally in the Teton Backcountry this season?

Also, if anyone is familiar with this tour route, where are the likely spots where we might encounter unavoidable avy terrain? From my maps, it looks like the descent down into Alaska Basin might be one spot, and the exit out of Cascade Canyon could be another. Any experience/beta anyone could share? (not just about avalanches, but anything else potentially useful.)

Thanks in advance.

Kai
