I fucking love naps. I couldn't live without them with my work schedule.

I never thought a 20 minute power nap helped much. All it makes me want to do is sleep longer.
I tend to take two hour long naps, but I think they are more to make up for sleep I'm not getting at night. When I sleep without an alarm I tend to sleep 9-10 hours, but generally get 6-7 hours of sleep (at night) during the week. I'm just not willing to go to bed early enough at night to get enough sleep.
In any event, naps rock. I don't understand people who never nap.

I was all about the power nap during undergrad engineering. I could wake up pretty much where I left off in a problem. Refreshed and ready to approach with new vigor.
I would have to get my study partners to start speaking English again though. They went back to Mandarin when I dosed off.Education must be the answer, we've tried ignorance and it doesn't work!

I fell asleep, so I didn't finish reading it...was it important?
I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...iscariot

I wish I could nap. Takes me forever to fall asleep unless I'm dead tired from physical exertion. I would say it takes me a good 30-90 minutes to fall asleep every night.
When I have tried and nap I just lie there with my eyes closed and chill, not overall a bad thing but I wish I had the ability to just turn the switch like some do. My wife can sit down and be out in like 5 minutes, I would give anything for this ability.

Guess I'm weak, then. I'm all in with naps for the past year or so. I really can't sleep eight hours at night any more, I always wake up after 5-6 hours no matter what, so a 60-90 minute nap after lunch is awesome. I'm still only sleeping 8 hours or so, just in two sessions.

My feelings exactly.
I read some place that NBA teams and other pro sports franchises are hiring "sleep consultants" who work with players to help them learn to fall asleep quickly, in weird places like locker rooms, buses, planes, etc. so they can get the benefits of a power nap. Wish I could sit in on one of these. Aside from having fucked sinuses this is one thing I have never like about myself, well that and the moster cock...

Tunco, please change your avatar. It's giving me a headache, and probably nightmares.

A German Shepherd could sleep 20 hours a day and still rip your throat out man.
Not getting enough sleep makes you tired, not tough.

There was something in one of Tim Ferriss's (sp?) books, can't remember which, but there's something called polyphasic sleep. You essentially train your body to go directly into REM sleep like flipping a switch. Supposedly if you can do this you can just take 20-minute naps every few hours and be good to go indefinitely. Not sure I'm down with that, I love a good 9-10 hour period of sleep.
I save naps for my refractory period.

power naps are a must. if I'm tired on the road i can pull over and sleep for 10 minutes, and while i need a minute or two to shake out the cobwebs when i wake up I am instantly refreshed. if that makes me a pussy I am what i eat. also a post carb heavy lunch snooze is a must.15-20 max or else I can't get up for between 1 and 2 hours (fwp)
