    Why Do Women Want Babies?

Open discussion. Obviously, there's some hard-wired procreation biased answer that addresses the fact that there are some specific organs gifted to women, but, in this unfrozen caveman lawyer's mind, why?

Sure, I wouldn't be here without it, but looking for some insight into the pain, plan, and prodding.

I really don't get it. Can't you just have amazing sex for the rest of your life, die, and then hook up in hell with everyone else you missed?

I never missed a single millions of sperm. Why do women hit 30 and feel the need to breed?

Clearly offensive, blunt, and honest. I just don't get it.

I am pretty sure it is hormonal... I do pretty well not wanting babies, and I am 32 but every once in a while, when I am around someone else's baby I will get a pretty strong baby desire...

Why, do you think? I have plenty of friends who breed who I think wouldn't otherwise.

That's what I'm getting at. Are hormones that strong?

Well, if you look at it logically, its really a dumb idea.. I mean, who wants to be pregnant, and then responsible for a baby, then toddler, then preschooler, then kid, then degenerate teenager for 18+ years.

There has to be something "hormones" telling us we want it and its a good thing...

Mama nature is smart.. why do you think men's sex drives peak in their late teens-early twenties and women's in their 30s.. more babies.

So, what if girls miss the window and don't breed in time? Do the hormones die down and they look back and think, "whew, dodged the bullet there. What the HELL was I thinking" like every time I wake up without a hangover despite a strong urge to drink the night before. Or do they live the rest of their lives in regret?

    YES,

End of thread. One and a half billion years of evolution has wired the procreation instinct into every organism pretty well. You may think you like tits and blowjobs because they are fun, but they are all part of reproduction, a d sooner or later you will fuck normally with the chance of knocking somebody up.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

Yeah - hormones. Any of the usual horndogs who doubt me can try not thinking about sex for more than five minutes. Or try getting excited about homo sex. Most people are complete slaves to hormones, not just women.

I do not avoid women Mandrake, but I do deny them my essence.

25% for your income for the next 18 years. As a father of two young men I often remind them the consequences of dropping hot loads.

Very true. But I don't see it changing in the foreseeable future either. I think we would like to have a family at some point, but too busy at this moment to take the plunge.

Considering that women have sex with fat, sweaty, hairy men rather than have hot lesbian scissoring sessions is pretty strong proof that hormones rule the mind.

I know several women (including my wife) who don't get it either. Zero interest in having a baby, despite hanging around friends and family with TONS of kids. 20+ years ago, when my wife and I first started dating, the discussion was brief: "Want kids? No? Good, let's see where this goes..."

...sooner or later you will fuck normally with the chance of knocking somebody up
True; fucking "normally" is just plain fun, and we're wired to do it. But that's different from actually wanting to have a kid. And that I just don't understand either.

Why is it that some people wake up butt-early, pile on loads of gear and clothing (that they paid a ton for), drive to a hill and either (A) pay them another ton of cash to carry them uphill, or (B) trudge uphill under their own power for hours, simply to slide back down again and end up exactly where they started? I mean, why not just stay at home in the first place, watch some tv and eat pop tarts?

We do what we do because, on some level or another, we think/hope that it'll make us happy - skiing, kids, drinking bourbon, goat porn, etc. Trying to explain it much beyond that is futile.

Personally, I took a gamble that having a kid would overall increase my level of happiness. So far, seems to be working out pretty well.

Food, Fun, Fucking and Fear - almost every human decision I can think of boils down to a consideration of one (or more) of these drives. Unless you are in the third world and kids are an investment strategy for your retirement, the only one to discount around here is the first one I suspect.

    This.

When my wife and I were contemplating having a kid, I asked a friend of mine what to expect. My friend, usually a total dumbass said the most introspective thing. He said "they will suck all your money, your time, and your energy. It will strain every single relationship you have and be more work than you can imagine. And it is totally worth it."
