Four days into our 17 day review trip to Niseko.
The new Squad 7 has been killing it.
It's sort of like the Super 7...except better in every conceivable way.

nice review. looks like i'll be trading in my supers this fall
the squad 7 on display at ISPO had an insane amount of positive camber, WAY more than S7 and super7 that were near by. May be those were failed proto or whatever, but they were very ugly to see
Saw a pair on the tram today. Didn't seem to have a ton of excessive camber. They were the white with green version.
Yeah, the amount of camber underfoot for a 120mm waisted ski is pretty eye popping. I questioned Rossi's engineer of the Squad 7 (and S7 / Super 7), Thor Verdonk, at SIA about the significant camber underfoot. He said that they had tested multiple camber profiles of the Squad 7, and this is the version that performed best.
As a point of comparison, a pair of 190cm Bibby Pros have less camber, but not a lot less.
Anyway, neither Jason nor I have found the camber to cause erratic behavior with the ski.
Also, the Dynastar Cham 107...another ski with some serious camber.
Nice review
Was curious since I saw a pair in canada on a snowmobile
Why can't Rossi measure properly?
Is it available in real 192 ish?
I need to go to Utah.
Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?
So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

One other question. How do I join you in these "review" trips to sick destinations?

In your review you mention the shovel being less than ideal for crud. After skiing different shovel widths etc... from varying manufacturers, I believe Volkl has the smartest shovel to retain it ability to pivot and smear while not deflecting in crud.
The Kuro and now Shiro are in my humble opinion, the gold standard for shovel design. Demo a pair, I'd be interested in a comparison.
Is it really that hard to copy and paste instead of self-promotion of one's own website/business? Guess not.![]()

I love how the ski is a 190cm length, but is really a 186.
Looks like some damn nice snow to test in, though!
You should have been here yesterday!
JFE24,
Since everyone is talking about it, how about adding a camber/rocker shot of new rossis?
Yeah, Rossi always rolls shorter than advertised, though the length hasn't been an issue for Jason or me, at least. And yeah, the conditions are sick. We're about to head out, and it's probably snowing harder right now than it has since we've been here. So far, it's definitely been the land of free refrills.
Oh, and our reviewer Andrew is breaking out the 12/13 Cease & Desists today....

it's just like the coreupt born to drop or permin, world freeride champion 2 years ago with C.thovex
the camber is hudge, something like 12mm
It sounds like they are making the Squads more like the 119 mm waisited Icelantic Keepers, which are stiffer and have more camber and lower rise rocker than the S7s.
Gravity Junkie
Just to clarify the white/grn version mentioned is a different ski called the Soul 7 which will not be sold in the U.S.
Hmmm... camber is the new reverse camber? Funny how it goes complete circle.
