Just heard that Cuche is retiring after this year, sad to see one of the best and most precise skiers go while on top of the game. Though he's certainly old enough to retire I had figured he had a few year left, given his current domination. Speculation is that he didn't want to deal with the equipment changes coming next year.

His run from the Hahnenkamm last year may not have been the most exciting or on edge that I've ever seen, but it shows a technician at work: so clean and controlled.

There was a film titled (something like) Anatomy of a Downhill .... Its an oldie but had some great slowmo footage etc. One of the ski mags had an add in it for this and a few more from that era for mail order. For the life of me I can not seem to find this film. I would love to have a dvd of it... If anyone knows where to find it I would be truly greatful.

That Didier Cuche vid that was posted was so cool. At 0:16, he resumes his tuck in mid air. Ice cold.

How about this for a recovery? (At 21 seconds in). Looks like hip and both hands down! Still managed second fastest.
