World Junior Hockey tourney
Wow, what a great goaltender's duel going on in the game tonight between the Czechs and Russians.
It's hockey before the players all become NHL millionaires and start just going through the motions for most of the season.

Yuck. So Czech defenseman pulls a soccer move and goes down in his own zone to try and draw a penalty, and with no call the Russians score and win in OT.
Lousy way to end a good game. I hope the Czech goalie gives his teammate shit for that stupid move.

That was a great game, although I'm pretty bummed by the outcome. I heard the announcer say towards the end of the 3rd that there were over 80 shots faced between the two goalies. That's a lot of offense.
That, and a pretty good Winter Classic today, it was a good day to sit and watch hockey on the boob tube.

Good game - I love the pace of World Juniors - makes it tough to watch anything else afterwards.
Should be another classic Canada Russia matchup tomorrow night!

Heads up: Semi #2, Russia v Canada in 30 minutes on NHL Network in the US. The talent level will be outstanding. Great game earlier between the Swedes and Finns. But really Russia/Canada should end up the gold medalist.
Make sure to pay attention to Yakupov for Russia, probably the best prospect to come out of junior hockey since Crosby.
HM to Kuznetsov, Tarasenko for Russia and Schwartz, Huberdeau, and Dougie Hamilton for Canada. All of them have potential to be all-stars in the NHL.Last edited by ICEHOCEY77; 01-03-2012 at 08:04 PM.

That Canadian goalie took a pretty rough whack. And gave up 4 goals in 30 minutes. Double-ouch.
