Anyone use Kickstarter for cool gear?
I got turned on to www.kickstarter.com a few months ago, and had missed some pretty killer stuff, but lately I've been buying a few things off of there. If you aren't familiar with how it works, basically someone has an idea for a product that they need funding for to do a first run production, so they list their product on Kickstarter. It typically has 30-60 days to fund. If it does sell enough to fund, the buyer usually gets a discount of around 33%, and if it doesn't fund, everyone gets to walk away with no out of pocket costs.
I backed this project in Nov, and should have my stabilizer by late Jan.

I missed this project, but I bought one this week.

I backed this project this week, so hopefully it funds. I think it's a sweet little add on if you shoot any video with your DSLR.

Anyway, just figured I throw that site out there because it's a great way to see some really innovative stuff, and potentially help someone out while getting a great deal at the same time. Win-win for everyone.

This guy has a few different things. This is a great mounting plate if you do both video and photography.

This is his cool camera strap mount, it works with the plate above.

I love Kickstarter, but I hadn't seen the EZ-Steady. How awesome!
I followed up on the Rhino Camera Gear website, it looks like they're building more products.. Neat.
Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, those guys have some pretty cool stuff for GoPro's. I want one of those helmet mounts for the poles. The camera out of front is a cool view.

I just missed (by hours) a really cool-looking 3D Printer. Around $750 for an 8"x8"x8" machine.
That hotshoe handle looks cool, but I'm always afraid of supporting the camera by the shoe.

Nice you guys support kickstarter, such a great thing whether you're the fundraiser or supporter. Everybody wins.

I just got the Capture clip. It's really sweet. Very very well made, and really well thought out. When I'm in the mountains I usually bring my shoulder bag because it's easiest to get my camera in and out of, but by the end of the day my left shoulder is killing me from carrying it there. Now I'll bring my actual photo backpack more often because I can easily keep my camera up front with my most used lens attached.

Timer on steroids. The HDR function looks pretty slick.

That one is really really cool, but I don't have my set up on rails as of right now.

Plus learning to follow focus is the hardest learning curve of shooting a DSLR wide open.
