    armada "magic J"

apparently a tanner hall pro model will appear in 2013:

wider than JJ, less tight rocker and more reverse side cut, 190cm and stiffer flex.
    any other info?

Most likely Tanner will ride it switch into the road. But certainly it will be sen in his movie
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Was gonna retire my 185 jjs at the end of the season for something longer and and that floated a hair better. Sounds like i found my ski. Will wait till to hear how they ride, but if they are a little stiffer, this sounds perfect.

Nah the quote is "MY ANKLES ARE BROKEN" in a very loud and "bugged" out voice.

Yes, because it probably hurts to slam into a wall @ 100km/h and blow up both ankles.

Has anyone skied them yet? Kind of curious about these. Fondled a pair of Bubba's in Whistler the other day, pretty big ski, still looks like a lot of sidecut, probably fun in the trees.

Magic J's are sick! 190, 127 mm at the waist w/ the rocker mellowed out a tad, and the contact points moved towards the tip and tail. Best JJ ever now.

My answer from a post I made in a similar NS thread, OP wanted to know differences between AKJJ and MagicJ

As far as I am aware the changes in the MagicJ are:

-Contact point moved up the ski, resulting in a longer turn radius (20m) @190

-Less Taper ie. toned down elf shoe tech, increasing the stability

    -Fatter, 127 underfoot @190

    -Stiffer

The are probably a few more minor tweaks but I think i covered all the major points.

    Here's the thread http://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forum...ead_id/704484/

    Who has skied these?

Thinking about selling my 190 bibby's and getting on a pair because for some reason I always liked my 185 JJ and my 186 ARG slightly more than my Bibby's even though both always felt a tad too short...

anyone have a picture of the rocker profile? i assume its similar to the ARG's rocker line?

    Any more thoughts on these?

I'm considering them as my powder ski, but they felt pretty soft when I hand flexed them in the store the other day. They feel about the same as a 183 Bentchetler, but the flex on the Magic J seems less smooth and more concentrated at a certain spot on the tips and tails.

What's not to like about armada? They make a pretty solid poppy ski, way better than a lot of shit that's out there...

Honesty, in comparison to my Billygoats. The Magic J is a weak twitchy bitch, but I need a bit more time on it.

anyone have any extended time on these? more to offer on reviews, comparison, and not just armada bashing, seriously who cares who makes your ski if you like them.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

I'll say, the JJ was probably my least favorite ski of all time....but I was curious to try these out since they didnt have as much taper which translates to more effective edge which translates to more stability at speed and there was a 190 offering. So, I took them out at the Alta demo in April and was actually quite impressed being that I had shit conditions to run them. From what I remember, they were actually pretty stable arcing high speed gs turns through sunbaked mank, and as expected they were super easy to play around on and even stomped a few 25 footers on these (again in shit snow). I think they'd only be better in primo conditions. Pleasantly surprised was my takeaway.
