First real day of skiing for both my kids. Expected at least one of them to hate it.
They both loved it, and shockingly my son was marked as "ready for intermediate lessons" after just one morning program. Apparently all the ice skating and other stuff helped. I have to say, the satisfied smiles as we got in the car were fantastic, along with the whining of "can't we ski more?" (had other stuff to do, unfortunately).

Good tip I heard was to leave before they were done so they’re left wanting more, not remembering the hard/tired/melt-downs. Also snacks, all the snacks. My kids know bike and ski days are where they’ll be able to talk me into a treat

Can’t remember how to embed a YouTube clip…

Got my 3 y/o skiing for real this season after one short day last year which was just him between my legs. He’s been out 3 times now, and is really loving it and able to ski short distances on his own and do “pizza”. We quickly graduated from the magic carpet to the lift. Here we are at our “home” mtn Whiteface, same trails I was skiing when I was his age. Just this past weekend we had him, myself, and my dad (who got me going on this same place at 3), all riding the lift together which was really a special thing for us...3rd gen skier in the making.

Great conditions this week for some kid jibbing. The kid finally got over his mental block and landed his first 3.

Mikey, I bought these gloves from you probably 5 years ago for my older son. They’ll probably make their way to donation status in another year or two.
