Not as rad as some of your kiddos, but yesterday was the championships for my kid's first season of ski racing. Here's her GS run, she was stoked!
She needs to learn to set up her turns earlier.
He'll never see this because I can't imagine he comes to this thread, but thanks to MakersTelemark to showing up and cheering her on!"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ

Man, I had fun yesterday with the four year old. Skied from noon to closing at Eldora with a snowball fight/ snack break. Highlight was the last 8 or so laps skiing off the same jumps in the beginner area simultaneously (a la dual slalom). "Let's do double jumps again, papa!" Most fun he's had on skis. The warm weather made a huge difference.

Also not as rad as others, but my 8-year old daughter got her first three medals and a trophy for 10th overall at the Girls U10 USSA Central Finale Championship this last weekend at Ski Brule. She was so excited to finish her first season racing with some hardware.

I'm sure you're just being modest, but don't sell your kiddo's run short. The transitions between her turns were great. She was fully engaged in her previous turn till about 3-5 feet before the next gate and was athletic enough to transition to a new turn on the steepest part of the course . Also, she slicked that blue panel right before the last headwall where it was a bit flatter. Perfect timing on turn initiation there. Once the strength and technique of getting on edge develops, that quickness between turns will pay some dividends.

Thanks! I wasn't being modest, I have no ski racing background and she was firmly in the middle of the pack. I'm proud of her, of course, and think she's doing great! But honestly, I think she's doing great as a papa. Good to know that she showed signs of really being a ski racer!

My son and I spent the weekend touring his buddy around the hill. Stuck to mostly low angled terrain. When buddy and his dad called it a day on Sunday at 11am, I asked my kid what he wanted to do. With out a pause he said, “let’s go up 10.” Super stoked dad to finally get up the hill.
To the top.
It may be stacked, but it is still Lower Cirque.

The 8 year old was invited to race the U 10’s at IMD finals at the bird this weekend. Won both SL and GS against the older kids. So psyched for her.
While riding the lift w her and some teammates, they were complaining about their Dad’s forcing them to race. She was incredulous...”I just love skiing!”

Kaj is 4 years old, will be 5 in August, just skied 5 days in a row with the Telluride Ski School. He moved from their Level 1 to Level 3 and now he's taken his first chairlift rides. I'm super stoked. Thanks to all the nice people at the ski school, especially Katja and his other instructors.

My 5 yr old had a great season. He did whistler kids for 4 days before Christmas and got some confidence. Way better than me trying to start him off myself like I tried to do last spring.
Highlight for me was taking him to Nashoba Valley in MA where I learned to ski growing up. Even got my dad on skis for the first time since his hip replacement surgery 6 years ago (which was from a somewhat skiing related injury)
Winter, I miss you already.

Here's some footage from Sunday of my 5 year old at Mt. Bachelor. It's been a pretty useful exercise with him to watch the video and think about his technique. Without the whole making a video I don't think I could get him to pay attention when we aren't at the mountain.
