Lots of fun pow days this season at Whistler/Blackcomb - I finally got around to capturing some footage last weekend and putting a fun video together of my 7 & 9 yr olds who love the pow. I hope y'all enjoy the stoke!

    • Emmy (7) skis on full rocker 128cm Volkl Mantra @86mm underfoot.
    • BP (9) skis on 147cm Armada Tantrum @99mm underfoot.

They both run them long at about ~10cm above their heads (their groomer skis are shorter with about equivalent effective edge)

Love the kids killing it. That Pow day footy is awesome. My kid has not had a legit powder day in a few years now. Only day had was decent. A foot plus but heavy Sierra cement style. Nothing light that he could just cruise through. Maybe later this year. Or next.

Man... life got super busy for me and I ended up taking several years of hiatus from most of the forums I used to participate in. So happy to see this thread still going. My Anna is now 14 and I have an 8 and 4 year old. We're still skiing strong and it still brings our family so much happiness. Keep up the kid stoke!

Skiing deep days with freeride buddies and getting rowdy still ignites my soul. Skiing with my four year old and watching him experience all the feel goods of the sport that I love still ignites my soul.

It was too cold to stop and take many pics today at brian head, but the skiing was good. Kids are ripping it up. They enjoyed hiking around cedar breaks and bryce yesterday. Who knew brian head tops out at 11,000. I didn't before this weekend.Click image for larger version.

    Looks pretty there.

Skied the weekend for the first time this season. Worked the hill to avoid the lines No real action pics but my kid knock off a few new to him lines, skied hard and had a blast.

Ongoing Kid Stoke [2011 and on...]

Just signed my lil dude up for camp Woodward. A week of overnight camp. On snow and the barn. It’s expensive but I think they’ll really help my kiddo progress and he’ll love it. Anybody else done it?

Haven't done camp at Woodward but I ski at the Park City location regularly with my kids. It seems like a great facility.

Got my kid off leash and now we are riding together. I can’t remember having that much fun riding a beginner chair, but how do I let him go on the lift by himself eventually?

    with great trepidation, that's how.

We drilled chairlift behavior into our kiddo from a young age, no horseplay and nothing but sitting calmly. And yes, at 10 she rides the chair without me. But I'm still nervous AF.

    ^^^^same

My kid rode his first chair solo when I put a tip into the snow and fell off while loading. By then he was four feet above me and off on his own.

That was at 7 or 8. Now at 9 he likes to load certain fixed grips on his own when there is no line and intake a chair behind him. I’m nervous, but stoked he wants to do it on his own.

He is well behaved on the chair and likes the bar down. So that helps.

Another Whistler pow day with the kids, this time with lots of drops. I've been getting them to work on skiing into the drops with speed and to keep on skiing after landing... as opposed to stopping at the top and a tiny run-up. Of course, we do this only for ones that they're already familiar with and that we've confirmed are clear below at that moment. Super fun to see them fly!
