This past week or two has seen MAJOR breakthrough for him and then Thursday the conditions and weather were prime. He took 3 summit runs in the am and 2 in the pm. Almost top to bottom and with no help at all from myself or grandpa (who's just as stoked as I am).

Oh and he's not quite 3.5, born in November '08. A small clip from Thursday at Magic, VT:

    Proudest parent day ever!! EVER!
The proudest days just keep coming! Bridger is killing it and will soon be slaying AK lines.

Did the yearly family trip to Zermatt. Was stoked to see how my kids enjoy skiing... FYI: my daughter just turned 7, son is 4 (first time in ski school this year).

    Huckwheat - very cute!

I've been lagging on the kid stoke this season. Here's some.

Owen did his first race at China Peak this weekend - he did awesome!

    he's 5
he placed mid-table in the 6-8 year old group
he was a very good boy all weekend
he had a lot of fun

    he posed for his mama

I think we have some race photos to share, too

This is by far my favorite thread on TGR. I love all the stoke!!!

It's also a great place to play SUPER PROUD parent without annoying all of your childless friends.

Our 3 year old has been absolutely killing it this year. Everyday we ski is a new adventure. I am so stoked to get out with him.

We just moved from VT to AK and he's already a pow hungry little dude.

He skied what I learned is called "Breakfast Bowl" and also lower Hillary's (telemike, you should recognize these names). I got breakfast bowl on video. The whole rest of the day he kept asking to ski pow pow. He told his dad that he needs powder skis like mommy. I was almost rolling with laughter. Being a ski parent rocks.

A little TGR powder/bowl stokage if you don't mind:

    So proud!!!

Had another ski window. Inbounds looked poor, so I was planning to tour. While waiting for my partner, we built a kicker in the front yard for my godsons.

    Jules will be 4 tomorrow

His older brother worked on his 180 for the rest of session after this test run.

Got to get these guys across the street next time where a bit more incline would help with speed.

This ^ just inspired us to build a jump in our yard today after skiing. Excellent work godfather.

^^^^ You (and they when a bit older) will be really glad you did the race thing. Keep them in it as long as humanly possible, even if there are some objections!

Don't worry... we live in the midwest! Plus, my wife and I both raced up to FIS level and college, and still enjoy it. Not as much as powder, steeps and chutes, though... Gotta have a good baseline.

Nice Work Owen! Love the hands forward and big air.

Question...why the harness on the little guy? Clearly it's not because he needs help skiing. To help hoist him onto the lift?

    Yooper, love the video.

Telebob - hot tub's undergoing maintenance. He did invite her to tailgate in the lot though.

Got the little guy skiing bumps on a blue the other day. Love the corn snow!! I also love that he tries ANYTHING and doesn't ever complain. He's even starting to pop off the jumps/lips he's hitting. Can't even imagine what next year will bring when he's bigger and stronger.

This thread is killer stoke!! Love it.

Love this thread, so much stoke in here that I had to share to.

My daughter 2 1/2 year old Piper is feeling it to. Had a break out day last week, 10 laps on the Time Tunnel (AKA ballroom carpet, but she's a huge Dinosaur Train fan) at Mount Hood Meadows. She sticks to the fall line as she doesn't have the turning thing down yet, but it's getting to where she doesn't want any help.

She makes snow angels to mentally prepare for her run.

Into the TIME TUNNEL!!!! Gives the 2 thumbs up as she cruises upward. Pretty toasty day and with the snow a little sticky it helped with the runaway child problem.

Is it bad that when someone asks where she lives she responds with "The Ski Area"?

We were all so stoked that we let her drive home.

Thanks everyone for sharing. The anticipation of the coming years is such a great feeling.

    Take care.

Dude, Owen is killing it. I'm gonna have to ask you about the mini tour set up a few years down the road. Here is a cell phone shot of my little guy at the top of his run on his second tour day. With him in the bjorn, I stuck to the groomed runs this year. Top of chair 1 for his second run of the day. He loves it.

When someone commented on his steeze, he got ready for fisticuffs.

And his older buddy a few weeks back when we still were finding some wind blown.

Loving this thread and all the kid stoke. Can't wait to show my son when he gets a little older.
