Jim, I skied 191 BG protos most of last season and comparing them one day to Matty's Soul7 (or Squad7 as they're calling them now) I personally think those two would be more alike than the Super7 due to more similar tip-tail taper, sidecut, rocker, maybe even stiffness/flex profile, BGs are longer though, same as Super7s. That said, the production BGs may have a 5cm longer tip and tail rocker/splay than what I was on, the ON3P boys would have to verify.

So I am gonna throw this out there...I have a pair of 191 BGs protos with p12 demo binders. If you want to check these out, I typically ski Kirkwood, when there is snow....

    Rockin

I'll pile on here. After a handful of great pow days and another bunch of following my little daughter around not-great snow days on 191 BGs, I love these skis!

I'm similar size to the OP and these things rip heavy pow, chop/crud, spring-like slush we had in Dec and of course the blower pow Saturday was amazing. Drops, steeps, mellow pow meadows, trees, alpine faces, you name it, I'm a fan.

Charging across chop without the rockered tips chattering is nice too. I can definitely feel the weight when I'm approaching a feature and think about getting spinny though. Granted, it's not where I'm most comfortable, but I haven't attempted anything but a 360 yet. Sheer ice is not great fun, but I don't expect it to be on any ski I love this much everywhere else. Nice work ON3P.

Makes me happy in the pants to see so many people realizing how good this ski really is (have the second-gen 186s), especially in chopped up pow. Nimble when you need them to be, and super stable at all other times. Wait till you get them in the air. I think I've only not-stomped 2 landings since I got them last year. Great for tight landings, too. I can drop a 20'er and stop or change direction almost instantly right when landing in one clean motion: extend, absorb, pivot

This is the indications from everyone. Totally different animal all together. Can't wait to get some good snow, and give them a run. Worried I will like them more than Caylors.

We shall see... you haven't even skied yours yet, man! I really do like the extra pintail for anything soft.

^^ Get on em' powtron. I have been using the 191's as my daily drivers and have been loving them, even on the hardpack. Awesome skis.

Have faith! The 7" that fell friday night at the Bird further reinforced my love for these skis. I pretty much love skiing them anywhere except icy bumps. On the other hand, the low coverage took their toll on the bases.... At least I didn't get any coreshots, the 4001 sintered bases are pretty damn tough.

Yeah, no kidding. Indestructable skis. I've taken em straight through 6" of pow on scree at speed and only got a few scrapes and a minor core shot (about 1/2 the size of my pinky fingernail right on the edge).

Don't try this at home, kids:

yeah, the only problem I have is that my true "signature move" involves hucking with my skins still on.
