Looked for you. Spent most of the day on the South Wall, it was decent. Ski in the morning, then be back down midweek probably, depending on what work nightmares rear their heads. Hoping for snow tonight..

Hoping for snow tonight. Black flylow pants, black orage shell, red/white Line SFBs, FT seths with neon green Raichle tongues.

Looks like Monday will be the day though.

Taking a wait and see on what tonite brings, have to work Monday. I am think Tuesday may be the day.

This is a great WX link although it is much more geared for Bozeman (BB) than BS.

The biggest avalanches I have seen in my career were all off that path.

The route is very committing, once you get down below where the last shot was thrown that triggered this you are in the gun barrel. Anything propagates above you in a big way and they will be naming it after you. Each time it has slid over the past 7-9 years, it has has gone bigger than the last time.Click image for larger version.

Black dot is about where the 4th shot was thrown. Yesterday you could see the crown from the top of Challenger. The yellow is about where the debris runs to. Almost 3K vertical.

I was wondering why Evi kept calling lone tree a red light over the radio.

That was one wet storm at Bridger. I got soaked through my soft shell pants and jacket while skinning there today. There was still a hard crust under the the thick new layer so I'm curious to see what kind of metamorphosis goes on there.

Did Big Sky get much today? Website says 2-3"? Really?

Coming down hard in Big Sky right now. (10 pm) soft light powder. At least 8 inches so far and still coming.

I timed this all wrong. Skied hardpack yesterday morning, drove home through a wicked glare-ice snowstorm canyon in the afternoon, and now school is delayed and possibly canceled in Helena which means we could have just stayed down there another night and skied today.

Have fun, looks like it's going to be great.

Snowed lightly all day as I drove around those ski areas to the north and south of Big Sky.

Poor vis and a wee bit of wind. Clearing out now, tomorrow should be pretty good.

To add: Followed by what looks to be an impressive ridge of high pressure. Cali/UT look fucked.

Got on Swifty, and a guy matching this description got on too. I asked for change for a nickel, and it was Yeahman. Good times meeting up with him. Marx opened up today, I will let Yeahman tell about how one run down Marx made him spend the next hour in the ski shop.... Later on met up with a friend of Austin's and introduced Yeahman to him. A TGR success story !
