scrambled: if you make it down to the Really Big Resort on Wednesday there will be several mags on the hill (including me) who can show you around from mild to wild terrain. My specialty is the mild end, but bring gear and we can hook you up with the high altitude mags and send you up into the gnar.

Big Sky got the avalanche control work done early enough to open most lifts (not the tram). Decent refresh of snow overnight and this morning so the skiing was great. Visited Necropolis shack while skiing Sheddy. Wanker Wednesday should have superior conditions.

But the best, by far, is to find a local mag to show you around and explain some of the Ridge etiquette. Be sure to give thanks and praises.

Met up with bacon and his friends for an afternoon sesh. Took 'em over to Slushman's for an intro into some of Bridger's classic terrain.

I think it is safe to say they were diggin' it

Wanker Wednesday driveway report: zero fresh, unlimited visibility, no wind, temp 0F.

I will be there at 9am for first chair, not sure how long I will last at these temps.

Freeride Systems jacket, ask for change.

At 7:30 it is 6*F, no wind and 1/64 of an inch of fresh snow at 6800 feet. Judging by the bright moon it should be sunny today. Will be out around 9:00 AM in blue parka and carhartt brown bibs will likely be on Sheddy and Dakota later in the morning to work on my goggle tan.

    Heading down with the Gimp.

Probably towards the Bowl or Challenger although the south side sounds enticing.

    Edit to add:

Pretty fun skiing on the Challenger side of things. Crons and Dobies slid deep and put a huge debris pile just above the unload for the Triple/Double.

What a fun day. Bunion is correct about Challenger, soft snow so I did multiple laps up there. Moonlight tree runs were also awesome, Single Jack was $$$$.

As stated Challenger was great today as were some lines off of Sheddy and Dakota. Laps off of Headwaters into Alder Gulch and Cold Spring were well covered but scratchy in spots. The new G Spot shack is complete and ready for a tour..

Jeebus, when will it end? I will be there Sunday/Monday and am really hoping for some new terrain to be open up high. No chance?!

Hard to say. When we got off the 3x2 I asked about the Bowl (Turkey Traverse was closed) as was told probably not. As we were leaving Challenger at 1:00 I saw folks skiing the south wall. Pretty breezy with a lot of wind transport from the south so..........

There were a ton of tracks on Saddle and the Football Field today. No way you'd catch me up there right now as I don't trust this snowpack.

Guess this happened after I left. Fortunately no one was hurt.

    ^^Whoa!!

Be real curious to know what the dynamic is between patrol and management these days at BS. I'm guessing RA isn't sleeping too well. Hopefully things will get back on track sooner than later. Safety first.

Swimmy, greet to meet you and ski this AM. That was a hoot, I don't think I've ever done that many laps in North Bowl, but when the getting's good...

The crown on that slide's gotta be at least 2 feet. Glad no one went for a ride because if they did I don't think they'd be around to tell anyone about it.

I asked that of a buddy who is still there. He said the patrol are being encourage to do their thing as they see fit during what has been a challenging avalanche cycle. These types of seasons happen and a lot of the patrol have been through a few of them.

Are we going to get video of the slide from the Saddle Peak cam?
