I fondly remember skating downhill ice on Canyon Ferry.

It was a brisk night in a backcountry tent to say the least, but at least it was still. There were five foot drifts on the ridges north of Cabin Creek.

Twas a wild day at the town skinning grounds.

I’d guess 40mph? winds obliterated the freshies from Monday.

Still found some goods in gullies and lee zones after a very cold but sunny climb to da ridge.

Big hard wind slabs starting to form on many, many aspects. Just in time to scare me for Halloween.

Although somebody had been sending it... That’s some crazy cajones.

Interestingly, there was a guy wearing a sleeping bag and counting golden eagles at the top of patrol chair in what I’d describe as the least hospitable birdwatching weather possible. Nice view though.

Not sure what was ripping harder, the wind or Niko (his tracks out of Bombs Away).

Looking forward to turns witcha both as well as Harry, Talisman and Micol.

Count on it, I am re-working my winter schedule and will be working 3 field days every other week and a bit of office time thrown in. I just confirmed my locker at LMS, thanks Scooter.

A few more days without new snow and we may have a backcountry bump run at History Rock.

    Got ours last week.

ETA: That is, after being asked a few weeks ago to send in 3 replacement pics because we were wearing hats. Against the rules, though I've never been called on it before. Then the pocket passes showed up and our pics aren't even on them. I guess it comes up on a screen for whomever is checking to look at? I dunno.
