Fair amount of people in the BB lot by 7:15 this morning. Went for the low hanging fruit in the trees on the north side. Someone put in some nice lines on the southern faces near the bear cave. Not sure what it’s called but north of hourglass.

That is something that will always stick with me: How the terrain of BB helps to produce some incredible skiers. I will never forget my there as a pass holder. It really humbles the soul when you see unknown strangers rip lines harder and more confidently than you ever will (and I do see myself as highly-skilled at the sport). In some cases it boggles the mind what people can send on that ridge.

And I've mentioned it before here, but this a place that molds the out-of-stater's into really talented folks. There is just something about that place that transforms people. My father refers this as "getting the fire in your belly", and its a fairly apt way of putting it.

Hope you guys are all doing well down there. Harry- I'm bummed that our late-April trip got scuttled. Have been wanting to share turns with you for sometime now. Hope the mayoral duties are still serving you well.

    Exceptions:

For outdoor activity. To engage in outdoor activity, provided the individuals comply with social distancing, as defined below, such as, by way of example and without limitation, walking, hiking, running, or biking. Individuals may go to public parks and open outdoor recreation areas, including public lands in Montana provided they remain open to recreation. Montanans are discouraged from outdoor recreation activities that pose enhanced risks of injury or could otherwise stress the ability of local first responders to address the COVID-19 emergency (e.g., backcountry skiing in a manner inconsistent with avalanche recommendations or in closed terrain).

    What does that even mean?

Seems like you are good to go as long as you do it apart.

My backyard this morning. Started early but the snow quality hung in there until well after noon. Beautiful day to finally get out of the house.

Thanks for the defrenzy and quoting the actual verbage from the Gov. As far as bb parking lots.... its like the wind on a perfect bluebird powder day. Please dont even utter its name, lest ull manifest its wrath. Looks like great skiing! Psyched for those that have been getting out!

Also a friend sent me this. Witnessed at about 325pm this afternoon. Middle Basin, Big Sky. I have a co-worker who always says “the sun is the worst thing for the snow”. Truth.

^^^ One of your former SS directors (not me, a short lil fucker) used to remark how quickly the sun could change fluffy snow into a slab that was reactive, especially on places like the A-Zs or other southerly aspects. Great skiing and then all of a sudden sensitive as hell.

They've been itching to do it anyway. Given the groups I've seen up there partying in the lot after skiing, I can't say I blame them.

Are you privy to the conversations had by BB management- how itchy are they? I have been up there everyday this week and have only seen respectful social distancing practiced in the parking lot. Throwaway douche statements like this can have an impact. There are more eyes on this forum than you think. Don't be an asshole (not the first time).

    Everyone be smart and safe.

Christ, man, you've got some seriously thin skin. What are you, the TGR police?

I'm glad you've seen people behaving appropriately - that's mostly what I've seen everywhere and it makes me proud of Bozeman, but I was up Saturday and Sunday and saw multiple large groups who definitely weren't practicing social distancing.

Another day in paradise! Went Dogleg to the Wave and then I ended up multi-sporting because I skied too low out of Bradley's. Visited some of my favorite disc golf holes while I was out there. Hadn't been out there since Bohart sold. Damn, I miss that place.

This thread has gotten more play since they shut everything down.

Love it although somewhat bittersweet. Stay safe.

Skied wolverine this morning. It was hit quite a bit yesterday. Lots of tracks and getting heavy. Possible saw one of you on the skin track further out.

This had a nice line in it this morning.
