As of Jan. 3 did a rogue storm hit Lone Peak and Lone Peak only with 8" of new in the last couple of days per Big Sky's Snow Report or are they measuring windblown?

Windblown, it seems. Not sure that qualifies as legitimate new snow. But they ... it's Big Sky. That's sort of their M.O.

Well I guess that explains the 400+" seasonal average claim. Despite the longstanding and chronic snow report deficiencies, there is no disputing the great terrain there and the wind generally helps keep things smooth.

If any of you hosers are bored, would like your skis tuned or just want some cheap beer, grad on down to the Pour House tonight. The free wax & tune night continues. I'll be there until 8.

Oh, Bozone and Mystery Ranch are giving away three Saddle Peak colab packs. So there's that...

It actually did snow about 6-8 above 10,000 or so and 6 in the meadow with a dusting at elevations in between. Kind of a weird isolated little storm. Good shredding if you knew where to look.

Hit up some of the local trade routes this week. Definetly not glisstopia up there but you can string together a few good turns amidst the wind carnage.

Thanks for the update Scree. I know Lone Peak gets/makes it own weather at times, it's just hard to believe the snow report there sometimes. Cheers and happy shredding.

And yet Moonlight reported 0 new snow. I find it a bit suspect that Big Sky would get 8 inches and Moonlight would get absolutely nothing, not even a trace. I get it that Lone Peak is often subject to wind deposits. Still ...

The stoke has been great, keep it coming. I'm thinking of heading towards the Park tomorrow to see what's doin' down there. Stoke to come. I promise.

Yeah, get it while it's good! Now you see why people at Bridger knock each other over to get to the pow, they know it might not snow again for months.

The real question is under or over-reporting.
