Went to the Dr yesterday. Good news is it just achilles tendonitis. Bad news I'm still limping and didn't get any drugs. Skiing is out for probably another week.

Motherfucker, I hate missing big days.

Y'all have fun and post pics pls.

I’ll be down at the big with my wife and a friend. Grey Stio jacket, matching beard and yellow helmet.

Thanks for taking one for the team! Heal up quickly.

The canyon is in good shape as I had to do a lap to BZN this morning.

6:30 report from 6800 feet: 7 inches of fluff, bright moon, calm winds and 25*F. I am sure the most famous driveway in BS got more.

Wifey has to work, I'm flying solo. Yummy yellow NF jacket, black pants. Will probably be struggling to stay upright on enforcer 110s and snacking on fig bars.

    Thanks Tman

To add insult to my injury, I just realized my license is about to expire. So instead on skiing one of the deeper days of the year, I will be taking a number and trying my best not to punch someone. FML.

Good vis’ to start the day gave way to heavy snow squalls by 1100. After one run in the open we opted for a wonderful 35* NW falline of old-growth whitebark/spruce/fir.

Today should be the one day of the season that no matter what you shouldn't have to go to work until noon-ish.

Good skiing, some absurd lift lines (Bowl & Challenger), not bad at Headwaters of 6-er. Did an A-Z hike (windy as hell) and braved the tram line for a lap, Marx was good.

The bowl skied well and the Traverse is as high up as I have ever seen it. Good to see you Talisman.

On the way home I noted that the main chute of the Green Wall slid to the ground yesterday.

Be careful if you used "I needed to get a COVID-19 test this morning" excuse with a goggle tan.

I'd love to meet up but still on the DL. Hope to get out by the weekend.

Anyone else been following the comments on Big Sky's facebook page around season pass options? It is obvious Big Sky doesn't gaf.

100% nonscientific polling results from yesterday while riding the lifts. Met a lot of Season Pass holders, they are as pissed as I am over the choices for next season. Many said "Fuck Boyne" I will not be buying a pass.

Between that and the Covid-19 I hope revenues plummet. Boyne

If there was covid transmission, it was yesterday in the Madison Base chow hall.

If you don't think viral transmission will happen (and probably is happening) via eating establishments, read https://thebitchywaiter.com/2020/03/...to-spread.html

And re: Boyne revenues and Covid-19: while I may be less sympathetic to the folks at the top of the foodchain, I'm worried about what this might do to local economies if resort areas start stepping up containment protocols (which a lot of sciency people seem to think we ought to be doing either yesterday or right now). Closing resorts hurts the people at the top, but it hurts the folks living paycheck-to-paycheck at the other end of the foodchain a lot worse, especially tipped employees. If this doesn't die down seasonally like the flu (which is plausible but completely unknown at this point), I have a lot of friends in Red Lodge who are going to be hurting.

Oh I know it's happening, and it isn't just the workers. The tent was stuffed to the brim with sweaty, sniffling and coughing humans drinking and stuffing their faces.

I was just sitting at the bar drinking a beer and thinking the world is on fire right now and these people don't have a clue.
