Could be a powder day at The Rock this week, eh? Have you been up there lately? Wondering how much damage this warm weather has done.

Yep, could get up to 10", definitely pick up 6 or so I bet. It was great spring skiing last Saturday but disappearing fast. Lots of bare ground around tree bases with any type of sun exposed aspect and rocks/stumps starting to rear their heads. I'm sure it took a pretty good hit this week, but there was still enough base that some heavy snow should help. Wild west was quite good in the afternoon.

Really sticky problem. I know I'd end up at Alta if the JHMR tram (for example) was off limits. (Oops! Breaking news!!! No Supreme lift access for you). How much more convoluted will it get?

Chiming in with my empathy - the absence of reciprocity for JHMR, Big Sky, Alta/Bird pass holders.

Need to hand back my I-94W visa at the border by the 7th of April so was thinking of making a trip from BC down to Big Sky at the start of next week looking at the forecast. With one day at BS and one other resort, any recommendations? Discovery?

I ski a ton with my kid. His longest ski is a 130 gs ski, but it otherwise on 128s. Last season he was on 110s and 118s. That short length with a little ski goes a long fucking way. Frozen mank in the trees for sure, but he rips down huge bumps, soft or hard, with little issue. Meanwhile my 191, 111underfoot, stuff chargers tend to be a lot of work in those conditions. Sure wish a pair of 140s would give me enough support. Then I could go anywhere.

Point taken about the tram. Crazy the headwaters has empty chairs around the same time. That is where I’d want to be.

One of the best things about skiing a deep deep powder day with my kid is he can’t ski it untracked. So we tend to hang out on a lift when everyone shifts to the newly opened terrain. We just wait until the crowd moves some where else and then ski right on.

It is shaping up to be a day of social skiing on Saturday at the really big.

My Bro-in-law from Atlanta (great guy, blues/greens), A former patroller from the club and her hubby and a couple of other ex patroller types. Just clucking around and maybe a beer or 2 in the sun. It better be sunny.

Crack of 10ish near the bottom of Swifty. The more the merrier.

I can probably take part in an afternoon part of the shack tour on Tuesday, don't laugh but I am speaking at 12:30 at a safety meeting at S/P. And its not that kind of a safety meeting.

Still planning on Wed. and Thurs. it better be snowing!!!

That stash should last until 11:00 AM or if you stretch out the roaches noon. My touring role will be easy as we will go to the same shack over and over all afternoon, yet no one will really notice.

Too bad there isn't a futures market for this type of "sensible alternative", there is likely to be a severe shortage and a resulting huge price increase during the course of the first few days of April.

140 CM! No reason to rent long boards as we aren't doing GS. I figured we'd use snow blades just like last time. I am practicing for the Plaid Dad Snow Ballet team try outs.
