I'm in the Bunion camp. Fall longer than 10 days would be pretty cool actually. The MTB was perfect for a few days there. My rock skiing days ended quite a while ago. I find the people that NEED to go ski shallow snow in October are the same people who don't have mountain bikes and spend all summer jonesing.

I actually drove to GD since I thought maybe they would have some grassy spots that might be skiable. Turns out there is way more snow at my house. I wish I had some marquettes or something to go fuck around on Mt. Helena but definitely don't want to risk my black crows or hit any more rocks. I had an awesome bike ride yesterday. I love this place.

I was planning to get out for a fatbike ride in the South Hills or maybe the reservoir. Or maybe a Nordic ski at Bill Roberts. But I just ran some errands and now itís 32 and wet/sloppy snow. Fuck it. This is hot tub snow.

    1. You got 23 days of fall this year. Be happy. I remember not too long ago skiing 5 feet of great coverage up at FMLR on September 20th.

    2. Oh I'm sorry I thought this was the "General Ski / Snowboard Discussions" for "Communicat[ing] with fellow snow sports addicts" **to be read as drunk Randy from southpark**

    3. Joking aside, if you all weren't so salty that pineapple would still be up there

    4. Would be a little wrong if I didn't post something to fuel the early season stoke. Here's a little vid that Norseman got of me from October 20th, 2007 up FLMR.

C'mon, this thread is just the Montana version of the Mediocre Base Lodge Soups of the Northeast thread, isn't it?

Had a go at the road today up to FLMR, and I have to say it was pretty fun to get out for my birthday, but waaaay low tide for any skiing. Tons of people up there, however.

Are there ever not crowds in Colorado? It's funny how quickly your perspective changes. Driving to the store during rush hour the other day went from 10 to 12 minutes and I was like what is with all of this traffic?!?!!

Here's a pup vid from over the weekend.

    QFT.

Green light periods and lack of persistent weak layers should be treated like the gifts from god they are. You came to Montana for the consistency of the snowpack? You're taking the wrong drugs, my man.

Same goes for summer, for some reason the higher latitudes aren't your friend if you prefer the 85 degree days.

Pretty much what to expect from WaPo, and a pretty cringey quote from the BS chamber of commerce CEO.

I work a lot with Charlotte, she's a fantastic RE agent.

Ha! I came here not knowing shitballs about shitfuck.

But doing my most diligent instagram research, our snowpack is touchy and not to be trusted. But we ski none the less.

The color scheme avy danger thing is fucked. Its never green, and it's never black- ppl confuse moderate w considerable. A number rating seems like a better idea.

Traditionally id be skiing cookie and flmr right now, but instead I'm embracing the south of town scene.

hope jerry is out there scrappin turns in plane crash bowl.

I even bought a new sled down here. How's this for Jerry of the day?
