Good question. I used to ski with him whenever we would bump into each other at BB. You know him personally?

    I'm a moron.

How fun. We can now all shop for our TGR-branded needs locally without the hassle of ordering online.

So if they'll show TGR archival films for free, could I give 'em 10 bucks to show my VHS of Thirteen on the big screen? Hell, I'd pay $20 for that.

Hey, I bought TGR dead tie-dyed shirt! Just trying to get into the spirit, ya know?

Shit, they gave me free beer, stickers, a pair of knock off sunglasses, chapstick... locals discount too. Not bad!

They’re going to rent the theater out for private showings. Not sure any of the kids in there are old enough to know what VHS is though.

Passed y'all on our way out Friday. That thing is skiing real nice right now! Also that black dog has the fluffiest tail and I love it.

Looks like just a couple lines left to rodeo out in the Northern Bridgers. What a beautiful day to scout them!

Probably 100 cars up at the Fairy Lake Parking area yesterday, so I opted to avoid the crowds and check out Frazier Basin instead of Sacajawea.

For those that ride near town, say farewell to Moser Jumpoff.

Rode that today to Shootout and back from the Moser TH. The Jump Off has been marked up for fuels reduction and I am guessing the old logging roads that had reverted to single track will be used to haul the harvested logs out. RIP.

Stone > Brackett > Stone yesterday. Just freaking gorgeous out. Partly cloudy with rumbles in every direction and I managed to get hit with only 3 raindrops all day.

right on, sorry to bother you man!

carry on... hope life is alright.

i was thinking of previous seasons and posts within this thread (and the old bbowl thread which was so kickass for a while) and felt sentimental about the scene i guess.

I've debating sharing this 'cuz it's kinda personal, but figure a few here may well have known Jerry Carisch, who passed away last week. The Carisches were deep friends with my extended family, and Jerry was my introduction to Bridger Bowl and the Ridge - gave a broke college student his first avy tranciever and was a consistent hiking and backcountry partner for me throughout my years at MSU. I've done a great many ridge laps with him, skied Wolverine and Bradley's a bunch, etc. Jerry really got after it for an old guy, he'd participate in Kings and Queens of the Ridge, and I'm pretty sure he always carried his own gear instead of having the patrollers carry it for him - not bad for a dude in his seventies. He also was lucky enough to live at Bridger for years. So he was a real fixture in the area.

Anyway, here's his eulogy from the Chronicle, written by one of his grandkids.

    RIP Jerry.

Thanks for that Jumper, I did not know that Jerry had passed. Nice eulogy.

Jerry donated a nice ski tuning bench to the BB patrol that sees a lot of use.

    RIP.

Since this is also the sort of SWMT MTB/Bike thread in the summer:

Trying to put together a long gravel/paved ride from Bozeman to Livingston taking as much dirt road as possible. Would like to take trail creek and can see using the Strava heatmap that people connect Bozeman Trail Rd to Trail Creek using the train tracks for that small gap in "frontage" road. Heat map pretty hot there so it gets done somewhat regularly. How sketch is it? Like don't be an idiot and get hit by a train or MTRL will call the cops on you?

Moffit to "Jeep trail"? I assume that is private land as well. Don't be a pussy and just go up around via Jackson Creek?

I've never done the train track route but have also seen/heard that that's the way to go. I've been meaning to get out and ride it or at least get eyes on it.
