Pretty nice snow at BS and more dumping down now. Here for spring break week. Most challenging double black diamond of the day: Snake Pit. Only skied it so I can cross it off the list. Harder than Marx and Lenin according to my 11 year old.

    ^^Nice work man!

Got to do a bunch of tram skiing with the kids today as the wife was Nordic skiing at Lone Mtn. Ranch. Line was short most of the day and the snow was nice and soft. Gullies were really nice.

Dirtbag Wall a little chundery for an 80 pounder but she was game.

My wife made it to the top of the Summit Trail at LMR...a 5 hour ski. She loves that stuff.

Erica's is one of my favorite little stashes. Short but I think not many people realize it's there.

2012 SW Montana Conditions, Stoke and Whatev Thread

6am dog walk report: 6 inches at my place. (7,500 ft.)

    Edit 7am: still dumping

Edit 7:30am: showed up for work, Boss said "Harry, take the morning off and go ski pow with your friend Bunion." (Note my Boss has known bunion for 30+ years) Benefits of living and working in a ski town !

12 noon: what a morning, my legs are rubber. Kept my eyes peeled for the yeahman family, did not see them. Time to go to work...

Awesome! So cool that the kids are having fun skiing the tram and that your wife did a big tour at LMR!

What a day. Harry you got a cool boss! Glad you made it out. Couple pics from the family photo album: my better half enjoying some glade pow in the a.m.

The teenager dropping in above Dictators (Sicktators?!) after lunch. Free refills blowing in, it was so nice we had to do it twice. Probably my best turns of the season. So deep yet so skiable. Wish it could have lasted forever. But I'll take it for a day.

I almost didn't go skiing this morning, but ended up very glad I did. We got a dense 4-5" that skied more like 6-7", and there was almost no one getting after it—it took me either four or five runs in Headwaters (Red Lodge's version) to cross a set of tracks I didn't make, and I saw other folks grabbing first tracks on True Grit at 10 a.m. Not a point-em-and-go powder day, but pretty damned good skiing nonetheless.

Taken at 11 a.m., both tracks are mine.

My friend, that second photo is just stunning. Knowing it's your kid just makes it perfect. The scale and scope of the shot, the haziness, the slope angle. Superb!!! Blow it up, frame it and hang it.

The nose and 4th finger skied great today. Had some awesome lift rides with Midwesterners. People dressed up and partying all over the hill.

Ridge closed at BB for wet slides, but it looks like winter is coming back soon.

Damn. Yesterday was pretty good up there.

Snowfield, Rock Creek, and TU were skiing smooth today at the big.

April storm skiing! Tram shut down for additional control work as I was about to get on, boo hoo. Six Shooter down, rumor has it mice chewed some wires...? Lone Tree down as a result. Deep af in the trees on north facing Andesite. Chance of epic day tomorrow...lots of unskied pow out there.

Swifty closed ten minutes early due to "tower issues"...maybe swiftybish can give us the inside scoop on what the lift situation will be tomorrow? I think Lone Moose might have been closed today too. Challenger was fun. Actually did some Iron Horse laps too. Never skied some of those tree runs before. Great snow in there today.

Lone Moose is done for the season, as is Pony and several other lifts considered to be less critical to operations.

I was at the bottom of Pony at about 9:00 doing some work and there were a lot of very unhappy guests left standing in the snow with no way to get to skiing.

One guy showed be a national Tweet from Big Sky saying Pony was open. Oooops.

I got done with work about noon and hooked up with another friend and skied from the Y/C to Big Sky and got some leftovers at Challenger, by then it was Small Sky as Shedhorn, Dakota, 6-Shooter, Lone Tree, the Bowl (chair open, bowl terrain closed due to heavy loading) and the Tram were all closed. Zone 0 was open in Headwaters and the North Side crew was trying to get more open but wind and heavy snow made it next to impossible. Tomorrow should be good.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.
