Wow. That read could've been something MUCH more tragic. Glad everyone made it out alive.

I sent bobbybill the Powder Poncho to summon the BBC. Covid travel common sense has me hunkered down on the Ice Coast eating soup so I can't use the Poncho to full effect out West this year. It has therefore been loaned to the keepers of the Blue Light. Poncho is loaded and ready to go... Believe in it, wear it, and it will deliver.

Hey guys, headed up to lost trail this weekend with the girlfriend. How’s Saddle mountain filling in? Haven’t been there in a long time would be stoked on any beta with hot spring info or avy conditions or if anyone wants to spin a lap.

I was up in the LT backcountry 2 weeks ago. Lots of natural slides on all aspects and pretty sketch overall. There was a pretty big slide on Saddle itself. We had a good time keeping it safe, there's lots of great "burn" skiing back there.

Of all the years to have a season-ending injury, this is my first one... and as good of one as any. Greater Tuberosity Fracture (broken humerus at the shoulder.) Just going a little too fast at BS for the conditions and the shoulder took the brunt of the force of the crash. (Doing nothing particularly cool, mind you.) Everyone be safe (read: safer than I) out there!

Hope the snowpack heals so that I can get some laid back touring with some of y'all in the springtime. Meanwhile, bring on the stoke! That way, I can at least vicariously enjoy this very interesting season!

Heal up!!!! It's definitely firm out there with pockets of downright ice.

I think the Fun Police are putting the kibosh on our parking lot. You know which one. Where everyone migrated after 4wd lot got snatched away.

I think they are going to put gates in. I saw some BS employees taking measurements and they have signs out now saying the lot will be closed on 1/15.

Yeah but it's been very chill in that lot from what I've seen. Few people using it, and it's gigantic. A stray camper or two but nothing abusive. I just wonder what in the world are they going to use all that space for? And here I thought we were actually seeing some positive changes at BS. Shoulda known better.

Not much snow accumulation in the base this am. Darn. Could be a nice day of cruising coral reef and pilfering patches of primo buff.

Is that a real Poncho or a Sears Poncho?

Pro Tip: Spread Eagle off the cat track to engage wingsuit mode... lead with the chin, gelande' style. Definitely make it into the daily vid with that move!

That poncho is a thing of beauty.

Guesses on peak gusts on the Ridge and Lone Peak Summit today? My guess: High....very high.

    Coral reef on a scale of 1 - 10 tomorrow? 11?
