I went by a few minutes ago and talked to Nick, one of the owners. He says they are fully staffed so a job is unlikely but it was cool to see the place. The amount of equipment they have in that little shop is pretty impressive.

You didn't throw the "TGR card"? Explain to Nick your vast social media following that will bring in mags to his store and the social benefit work you will be doing aligning cougars and fit chicks with eligible local men.

Go find the Gear Wizard and make friends with him. He’s got an impressive shop for its size, and always does a great job with my skis.

The wiz also has (had?) the lowest priced mounts in town at around $40.

    Maybe he’ll hire you.

Thanks. I’ll run by there tomorrow and see if he needs any help.

+1 for the wiz. Brian is awesome and my buddies Dan and Dick are top tier shop rats. They'll set you up right.

Went by the wizard yesterday but whoever I talked to said they pare down employees to the bare minimum for winter season.

I'm moving on from my STH2s and going with Pivots so am now in search of a Rossi/Look jig. Might have to go back by the Wizard and see if he'll let me borrow his jig for an evening. Total longshot but worth a try I guess.

We did this for a week in Clarkston in an insulated school bus with a wood stove.

    It's Bozeman, not Canada.

Chalet did all my mounts while I was in town. Not because they were better but because I could walk in with a pizza and a case from work and walk out with a pair of mounted skis. Every Monday night a few pizzas would go missing from the shop and a pickup bed would mysteriously fill with beer. I got a lot of the things I needed while 'going out back for a smoke' on that Monday shift.

The Big Sky Zoning Advisory Committee today unanimously voted to recommend that Gallatin County deny a proposed nearly 500-acre Big Sky development known as the Flatiron project. The 500 acres is just the PUD in Gallatin County with another ~100 acres in Madison County, between the two counties this developement "ask" was for 2,635 units of various types.

Terrible location for such a project.

Like Arnie, it will be back.

The PUD goes in front of Gallatin County in nine days or so, which should be a more sympathetic audience.

Those shitheels have never met a project they didn't like.

Steep, landslide prone, lots of wetlands and right on the edge of the Middle Fk of the Gallatin. What could possibly go wrong?

Run out of potable water in Big Sky? Forest fire? Building moratorium? Sisemic activity? Interest rates rise and real estate prices collapse like 2009-2010?

Nah, this development is a sure thing.

Any maggots need a topper for a 6.5' Tundra? Need to unload this before I get the GFC in about a week. This is an older picture. Can get a new one tomorrow. It has nice Decked brand metal t-tracks with Yakima towers and wide bars on it now that I installed this summer. $400 to maggots. Will go on CL tomorrow for the hoards. Got it two summers ago and had to search the entire nation to find one that wasn't $1200 bucks. Previous owner plasti dipped it black. Silver/grey underneath. I had to replace the window up by the cab and it's this cool slider that also folds completely down.

EDIT: It's a 2012 Tundra. I think the bed dims on this may not work for the latest Tundras.

Do you think it would work on a 2016 tundra? If so I'm super interested.

    from noaa..

"Some guidance suggests that the highest elevations across southwest
Montana have a greater than 50% chance of accumulating 6 inches of
snow or more. Snow that does fall is likely to be wet snow, which
may cause concerns with regards to power lines around trees that
still have foliage. Highlights for this weather system are likely.
After Tuesday temperatures will generally trend closer to normal,
but still on the cool side. -AM

may be taking the bullshit skis(waxlass 3 pin) out for some dicking around!
