Amazing stoke! Rice Bowl has always been one of my favorite laps to let it rip! Short and sweet but a hidden gem.

It was worth the drive down today. Mostly sunny, cool low and inverted up high. When I left the Bowl chair was still on a mechanical hold and had been all day.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Fun opener at Showdown. Surprisingly busy but a good vibe and good snow for November

Barely. Coming into Butte from the west, you can get a peak of it over the hills before I90 drops down into town. Hard to spot unless you know right where to look

Byates, there is a good PBS special on Beef Trail that I've caught randomly. Worth tracking down.

Showdown was empty today. Had fun with my kid until my 7 year old race bindings snapped and I face planted......I'm too old to be doing that. I guess I should buy an alpine set-up. These La Sportiva Nano carbon skis aren't the best in moguls, nor are my two buckle Dynafit boots. I paid the price today!

Deep Creek out of Anaconda I think. Skied there in the 70s.

Huh, I was in that area today and not a whole lot higher, would've looked if I knew it was there before now!

Great day banging the brush at Bbowl today. Just enough refresh to keep it smooth and fast!

It’s privately owned now. The owners maintain and ski it.

In other news, how much meat do you all typically get from a processed elk cow?

My 75lbs feel pretty low but I did lose a front quarter.

A cow elk should yield about 160-170 pounds of processed meat. The yield varies by the size of the animal obviously and how carefully you field quarter the animal. If you are fortunate not to be quartering and packing meat at dusk in grizzly country you may have a bit more meat.

Wraith? An old big sky friend was over here skiing when I met up with her and she was skiing with E. Havent got an invitation to ski it but sounds like a fun setup.

Also disco is pretty rough right now. Fri afternoon was more spring skiing but things are pretty icy/thin now.

Where did you take it for processing?

Yup. She managed to buy the last lot in that little subdivision, so she’s bonafide now. I know maybe half the other owners too, but have never made it a priority to get out there with them.

Winter just came back. Nice and sunny when we cut our Christmas trees a couple hours ago.
