Snowbowl was an awesome mountain. So much snow at the summit. I feel like people are always talking shit about that place.

Only the morans. No vertical drop in the state can compare to top-to-bottom bowl runs IMO. Glad you had fun.

Had a nice little walk in our collective backyard this afternoon, complete with a game of "how many ski straps will it take to get out of here?"

No, no, those things don't unstick, that's the problem.

This was a pair of extremely worn Montana skins. Got my money's worth from that oddball Euro brand and would take it again every time over G3.

Great you were able to get after it! The Moonlight side has been quiet this week, but the snow is great.

Is it always this cold in Montana? couldn't even get my money back today as it was unskiably cold and they should never have even sold me a ticket without a descent warning.

I thought descents were a given when it comes to chairlifts?

no, customer service is actually a thing. I have never been treated so poorly as I was at Showdown today. Everyone should avoid that place, and it is cold, too cold for skiing, and the guy at the ticket office was rude. Nobody should even be open on a day as cold as today.

If only there was a way to know the temperature before going skiing.

it is the RESPONSIBILTY of ski areas to inform their guests of current conditions. It was not this cold in Big Sky and I had a much better guest services experience there. If it is normally this cold in Montana, then it is the RESPONSIBILTY of ski resorts to provide heated chairs like the ones at Big Sky.

If it's normally this cold in Montana, maybe everyone is used to it and expects it. I'm certain that Showdown has devices around the hill that clearly display the air temperature to anyone who knows how to read them.

Sometimes it is even colder in MT. Not sure how cold it was at Showdown for you today, but I skied most of today and wasn't the only person on the slopes. My local mountain doesn't run the lifts when the temperatures are below -25*F, but I don't know about refunds on day tickets. Do you check weather forecasts when planning winter actvites?

The point is that I WAS COLD! The customer is always right and if the temperatures were unseasonably cold then ME, the customer should get MY money back. The sleigh ride I took up at moonlight had heated floors and seats. At Showdown, the lodge was gross and barely even warm enough to warm up in. If I ever come back to this second world state, I will be skiing only at Big Sky, because they are civilized and everyone else here are living in mud huts and riding double chairs.
