Jables. Theres 420 thousand ppl coming to pig sty and ppl are triggered by it. If another mag is coming with his 69 kids, sprinter van, and a pile of cash, fuck it, at least you asked the community.
April is tits at big sky. Shits filled in and it's about as good as it gets. You'll have a blast. Stay up on the mtn, either moonlight side er in the big sky base area. I'm not in the know about apres activities up there but I'm sure it'll be good to take all 14 families out for a ten thousand dollar dinner. Erybody will have a great trip.
Here's another pic from cookie cause of covid.

FKNA! Appreciate it. I'll let you know whatever fancy restaurant we rent out for the family reunion sized dinner and you can join, on my rich friends dime of course. They've got Texas oil money, duh. My expectations have been raised since you called it the tits. Dem sum tall words.

Got up to Teton today. A little thin, like everywhere else. All kinds of conditions but found plenty of soft stuff. It was fun to take a skin lap with Charles. He broke trail and dug the pit! Pretty good for a big time ski area owner!
I’m always posting from an iPad. Hopefully they are right side up

Thanks for the info up-thread (Jenks?) on Lookout Pass. Mrs Griz and I went up on Thursday. 2 tickets for $68, no real crowds. Plenty of Blues and Greens for her to get her mojo back and to get comfortable on her new gear.
Nice little area, just a few challenging spots, but lots of snow. I didn't have any concerns about hitting any rocks.
Pic 1 from chair above the run called Purgatory. Steep, narrow and bumped out. No traffic on it, so I had pretty soft conditions.
Pic 2 is the face under chair 1, on the frontside.

Cool pic of the Lookout Pass lift line bump run. There's nothing better than a lift line bump run, especially the old school lifts

Fun couple of hours at Bridger. Up top and Slushmans should be good this afternoon but still had not opened by the time I had to leave.
Points for the grab.

Quote for fucking truth.
Keep your head on a swivel out there, sooo many gapers who apparently have no clue about the skier's responsibility code. Turns/starts/stops out of nowhere, and the amount of collision stories I've been hearing is insane.
At least the on-mountain lift-line discussion of how good or bad this place is compared to everywhere you've skied has toned down compared to the first couple Ikon years. Had someone say to me "This place is wonderful!! I don't know how anyone could live here year-round though!" I sighed, canned the first response, and said "Well, we've all sure been trying to." People who have no idea they're being douches are the worst. But perhaps sometimes that's me?
Keep on skiing, I guess.I think the potato gun proved the stability.

Coverage dramatically improved this week at Big Dry/Thin Sky. Still far from where we all want it to be. Actually looked like they were prepping to open the HW hike very soon. Shed AND Dakota open. As expected I heard Dakota terrain was boney AF, but possibly the south side bootpack will be open soon for people who don't want to wait in line or ride in the Covid Cube?

Or anywhere else.
I'd be hesitant to book a long-distance destination trip of any sort right now for logistical reasons even if I wasn't concerned about the increased risk of viral spread (particularly to my parents or my in-laws, who currently watch the kid) of travel.
All it takes is a couple of friends who work at different restaurants to get sick, and suddenly you start losing dining options. Oh, wait, one of those is also rooming with a couple of patrollers, and they had dinner and beers with coworkers at a different restaurant yesterday?
, now patrol is short staffed and terrain openings suffer, or worse, the resort can't open (see also Hunter Mountain).
I'm not saying it's likely, but it's not a huge stretch, and if it does happen, what are you going to do to enjoy your vacation?
Also, YNP doesn't exactly close, but most of it is very, very hard to get to in early April. The park has a good road status page that explains the schedule and when they (attempt to) open for wheeled vehicles.

BB was pretty fine today. Rumor mill cranking away that the covid is working through the Thin Sky staff to the point they are training food service staff to load lifts. Grain of salt and all.

More grain of salt: Over the last few days I thought to myself, "Wow, seems kind of late in the season for new lifties......and several I started to recognize always working XYZ chair are suddenly not around anymore....."

Now if they could just pass out chicken fingers while loading I’d switch passes.

lol. Guess the rfid passes are for the protection of the skiers.

It’s so fancy at the big there must be valets with linen nappys to dab the greasy mask corners.
And as ridiculous as that sounds there are tourists that would love it.

During that timer frame you can ride a bike on the park roads but that is just about all. It is actually a very cool experience if its a nice day.
Chicken Fingers? How plebeian, the Thin Sky serves only the finest Goose Fingers. (processed rat meat on a stick)I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

According to the website the Liberty bootpack is open and closes at 2:45 p.m. I haven't been over there to check. Website also says Marx and Lenin are open today. I'm heading down tomorrow for a couple days, maybe see some of you around. Hoping to catch the rope drop on the North Summit tomorrow afternoon.
