DOT has been posting their yearly road clearing videos, Basin posted the cornice mitigation video and announced an expected opening day.

    Low down went quick.

Just rode up Corbly. It's stupid dry. Like July dry. The first big snowbank in the dark woods pasts the upper chill spot/switchbacks is like a couple shovels fulls of snow.....not a big snowbank.

Rookie mistake. Rule in Montana is snow tires come off after July 4th and go back on by Labor Day.

Ha. My rule of thumb is they go on before big game opener (third week of October) and come off when Big Sky closes (third week of April). And occasionally you get screwed, like us driving to the high school divisional tennis tournament in Bozeman this morning, and divisional track meet in Kalispell tomorrow. (Which by the way they moved from Butte to Kalispell due to the storm.)

I had pretty good results just riding the motorcycle in between for a couple of years.

I follow your rule of thumb, but have mounted snows so if I need to swap back to snow & ice tires it isn't a big deal.

I don't think the road is plowed while they are closed anyways so oh well. Totals are looking good.

Was only 100 cars or more at bridger this morning. Less new snow than in the yard.

That’s sweet. I was looking at an ad for a 1992 diesel 4WD corolla last week. I would definitely take this over that. Realistically I don’t have room for either over the next 10 months.

Fair price, fantastic condition. Usually those things were rusted out a week after leaving the assembly line.
