Yeah, it was pretty bad though I heard it was worse yesterday. We managed three laps this afternoon. We had to choose between waiting on top or ripping down the gullies nonstop to get back in line to barely make it back up in time for our slot. We chose the latter and the snow was actually great in first g. Glad we did that. We were a little late but they held our spot.

I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

How's the snow holding up on shady aspects in the Gallatins? Heading up from SLC on Friday, touring Saturday.

    Gnar_Schralp 406 killing the hardpack!!!

I love hardpack shredding. My favorite hardpack run is Slushies face when it's smooth. A couple fun airs into a nice long moderate pitch into the bottom roller coaster where you can really let it go. Hope it's good today. I have the feeling we might be stuck on the south faces.

I believe someone got flown out of Big Sky today as well. Rumor in the locker room was a long slide on Highway ended in a broken femur.

Only to be pedantic, those are the Cache Trees (from skiers right, 1st, 2nd & 3rd), back before Challenger (pre-88) there was a rescue cache along the LRT traverse as that was the route people took to ski that area.Click image for larger version.

Bunion your remarks aren't pedantic and I found the pictures with the correct nomenclature on the various lines around Cache Tree's, Little Tree etc. helpful. When contacting BS Dispatch having the correct name for a location can expedite getting help to someone who needs it a little faster.

Hopefully BSSP still uses those same photos or some improved ones.

That's two of us! No skier down wants me tending to their medical needs with my poorly remembered Boy Scout first aid skills.

My pleasure, if you can stand it, sit down with Ordeal and have him tell you some stories. He was there for that era and still has some brain cells, same with Scooter.

The story of Sean, Kremer and Bob getting washed out of the Clearings area and buried and then Yunce digging them out is a classic. IIR he broke Bobs nose with his shovel.

Same with the 2 patrollers sweeping BRT at the end of the day, triggering a slide and getting buried and one managing to reach his radio and call for help.

My favorite is 2 patrollers in 2nd Graceland (Firehole) triggering the whole thing above them and one jumping into a tree while the other took the entire ride. He walked away without a scratch.
